Many of my favorite childhood memories are at this little-known State Park, a close neighbor to the more popular Cook Forest State Park. Clear Creek has maintained more of a natural setting than Cook Forest, and remains free of the typical "tourist traps" found in the latter. Visitors of Clear Creek can expect to enjoy undisrupted natural settings perfect for walking, jogging, biking, meditation, or yoga. The picture-perfect wild and scenic Clarion River provides not only picturesque views, but also abundant (stocked) fishing and swimming on two beaches (although only one tends to be open at a time). Please note- this swimming area is near a natural spring, and as such the water is a bit cold for some swimmers.

The park also rents affordable cabins and pavilions that are perfect for a romantic hide-away or a fantastic birthday celebration... I could imagine this to be a good place for an outdoor wedding or a photo opportunity before a prom or other "dressy" events.

Expect to "unplug"- you won't find...

This is absolutely my favorite place! When people think of Allegheny national Forest, they often think of Cook Forest State Park, but rarely go to Clear Creek State Park. Another 20 to 30 minutes down the road, you can be in this state park. I grew up going here renting cabins and camping multiple times a year.

Some of my fondest memories are of the times that I’ve spent hiking, canoeing, floating down the river in inner tube, spending time around the campfire, doing all the other things that this park offers.

They have a museum they’re showing artifacts from the Civilian Conservation Corps, and park rangers and park naturalist will often do guided hikes giving more facts about how this park was established. I also love that they show outdoor movies in the summertime.

There’s so many sites to see, and so much nature to enjoy, that you often cannot get enough of this Park. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

I love this place during all seasons, and will go back anytime I...

Just returned from a week at Clear Creek when the trees were in full color. I can't say enough about this park. From the moment you drive in, it's like being in another world. The Pines and the Clarion River are so so beautiful. Site 41 was awesome and right on the river with a huge yard. We watched three bald eagles fly down the Clarion. The showers and bathrooms were excellent. Staff is very attentive to this park. I turned around and drove back for another five days from Va. It was AMAZING! There are many sites on the river, none are bad but the sites in the 30's are close together. 40, 41, and 42 are amazing. 42 is across from the river but it's private and huge and you can take your chairs down on the river anytime. You get a beautiful view of the river from 42. Great place to ride bikes, hike, play in the water and they have Sunday services there outside. I'm a little sad this park is 7 hours from me would be my only problem! Great job Pa. !!!! This park is amazing. I'll be...

WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT OUR VISIT HERE!!!! And, it’s wheelchair friendly! We spent a day here and barbecued at the picnic area. (Bring your own table cloth because the picnic tables are older and well used), the creek runs right next to it and there are restrooms very close. Nice parking lot with plenty of space. Dogs are ok here but not on the beach/swimming area). The creek/swimming side was beautiful and has a nice roped off area for swimming that is well marked for depth. Clean beach and the water is cool and clear. Bathrooms nearby and walking trails. There are 2 handicapped spaces near the beach and more parking just across the small road. I’m excited to rent a cabin or tent site and stay here with my family and grandkids!!

We stayed in Cabin 15 and it was lovely. There was a stove top / oven, and a microwave inside the cabin along with electric heat that provided a nice flame which gave the cabin a nice cozy vibe. There was no sink though or running water at the cabin (it’s November so they had shut off the water pumps for the season) but we were able to use the bath houses to get water in some jugs we bought. The cabin also had an outdoor fireplace with a grate which was probably our favorite part. We ended up buying more wood because we loved having a fire there. Plenty of cute little trails to walk along, or even just walk along the road. Cabin 15 was also right next to the river which was nice.
