If you live in or remotely near Helena, it is a must see. The hike is super easy (less than an hour up), but extremely rewarding with a practically 360⁰ view of Helena, you pass through the big "H" on the mountain, and get to see a small cave in the rocks. While you don't hike much, the highest elevation is still 5460ft!
To get the the 1906 trail, which takes you to the big "H" and small cave, follow the dirt path across the small bridge and then take the first path left with a sign that says you can have your dog off...

It is less used, and has more straightforward routefinding. My coworker once hiked up here in office shoes, but I really dont think it’s a good idea. We usually prefer to take the 1906 trail up, and then we like to go down the powerline trail. There is a "cave" along the trail partway up. Nice views (of the surrounding area in the daylight and city lights below at night) along parts of the trail and at the top. It's pretty easy, but of course, bring water and wear comfortable...
