Can't say I've been happy with what we bring back from this farm. In spring, we RSVPed for strawberries twice. The first was last-minute. When we got to our appointment, the first of the day, we saw I would assume to be a family friend hauling off a whole wagon of strawberries. We discovered she picked all in the field for the day Worth picking. When we came the next week, the berries, we only discovered after we got home, were so nasty. Not sweet at all. Not even. Sour. Just gross. Bleh. Why do I come here? For the fun to enjoy a day at the pumpkin patch with their playground, animals, and the fun odds and ends there are to entertain my preschooler. And for that I'm grateful. But as for bringing anything back, it's a disappointment. The donuts are gross, the slushies are so full of sugar it's wild they're offered, again with the strawberries, they're absolutely nasty, the pumpkins are (1) imported from elsewhere (I've seen the semi-truck deliver them) then you pay a fortune for these pumpkins, and then finally, my latest disappointment, their cutting flowers. I was here on FRIDAY. I picked these Friday after 4pm, we left around 5:20 and I freshened the water. And what happens by Sunday evening and water not even gone from the vase??? Half of my flowers are already done!! I have to sort out the yucky ones now to try to keep what's left from going quickly, too. I'll do that once I post this. For $18.50 I was assured it was a steal for these blooms, but I beg to differ. This is disappointing and I honestly don't think I'll be buying anything from this place again, not food from stall or field, drinks, pumpkins, flowers. Nope. So, so sad to have to experience this from here. I wanted to like everything about it. But I just can't with these constant disappointments in...
Read moreI had been hearing really good things about this place (especially the pizzas), so we decided to make the trip out there to get our pumpkin this year.
We got there just before 11 and the parking lot was already full. We had to park at the elementary school down the street with many others and walk a couple minutes to the farm.
We got in line for pizza at 11:05. I had read that they made pizza from 11-7, but there was already an hour long wait when we got in line, so I feel like they start earlier. We ordered the bee farmer (jalepeño and honey) and loved it. We didn't really taste much honey though. The crust and cheese were delicious. It was definitely some of my favorite pizza. We split one and it was the perfect amount of food. They will text you when your order is ready so that you don't have to wait there for it.
We picked out a pumpkin while we waited. The line to pay with it was so long it took almost the whole time we waited for our pizza (over 30 minutes). We also got an apple cider slushie which was pretty good.
There are a lot of other kid friendly things to do to — hayrides, corn maze, etc. The corn maze got blown over by hurricane Michael though.
All in all, I'm glad we went for the pizza, but o probably wouldn't go again unless it was off season because it was way too crowded. It felt like they could easily invest in more employees to help...
Read moreI almost don't want to review this place because it's so awesome, I want it all to myself. Strawberry and pumpkin events are now by reservation, which keeps crowds down. These events are annual staples for my family now.
The strawberries and pumpkins are organic and amazingly good. They obviously are good at farming because even without pesticides, everything is plentiful.
Everything else they set up is great to occupy young kids for a few hours. The zip lines and swings are definitely favorites. My boys are currently three and about to turn seven.
The best part is the Farmer Cathy pizza. Their brick oven pizza is far better than it should be. The dough is perfect. The Farmer Cathy has local veggies and cheese. It's almost a California style... but worlds better than any California style pizza you...
