Logan Family Farms, LLC — Attraction in Hempfield Township

I have been buying freezer beef from Logan for about three years. My biggest concern was whether it would be tender. When I saw they age their beef almost 30 days I decided to try it. The aging is what differentiates Logan and all the cuts are tender. In fact when you sous vide the round roast, it is every bit as tender and flavorful as the best filet mignon. Every cut was exceptional and surprisingly the traditional strip and ribeye were not even my favorite cuts! Most of the big steakhouses age their beef less than Logan and you will find out you are disappointed going to a steakhouse after eating the Logan Farms beef. I was also initially worried about the amount of ground beef that comes with a half or a quarter but that seems to disappear first. It really is that good and allows you to expand your repertoire of ground beef dishes where the ground beef becomes the star. I am only now talking about the value of the beef because all things being equal when purchasing a half or quarter you will be paying between 50-80% less than at Costco or Sam's for the equivalent cuts. But that's not the main point, the main point is the flavor. The added benefit is keeping your money local to Pennsylvania with responsible farmers and the lowest environmental impact you can have for you beef. We love local craft beers, why not...

The beef is the best we’ve tasted, hands down. It makes us worry what we’ve been eating all these years before we found you! So far we’ve used our ground beef, sirloin cap, and some NY strip steaks. The ground beef and sirloin cap were so tasty, we had to make strip steaks (a popular cut in our home) the next night to see if it was a fluke…it wasn’t. Such tasty beef, and so many different cuts to discover.

I've been buying from this company for about a year now and even though it is a bit of a drive, I go out of my way to try to get there once every two or three weeks. This is a family owned company with very friendly service. If you have any questions about the cuts of meat, they take the time to explain anything you need to know. The meat is outstanding. I won't tell you our favorite because I don't want everyone buying it up. Every cut of meat we have tried has been absolutely delicious. The ground meat is very tasty too. YUM! I highly recommend a visit. You can even call in advance and have your order set aside. That is a good idea if you are driving a long distance so you can be sure they have what you want or need in stock. Thanks Logan...
