Step back in time and explore the captivating Isett Heritage Museum! 🏛️✨

Founded by J. Melvin & Beulah Isett, this hidden gem in Pennsylvania preserves the essence of everyday life for future generations. Their lifelong dedication to collecting local memorabilia and antiques led to the creation of this extraordinary museum.

Located on Stone Creek Ridge Road, just two miles east of Huntingdon Borough, the museum offers a breathtaking aerial view of majestic mountains and ridges stretching for miles.

This unique museum began in a renovated barn, where Melvin and Beulah organized their collection after retiring in 2000. Since its opening, the museum has expanded to accommodate the growing collection. In 2002, a new building was constructed, followed by another in 2004. Finally, in 2008, building #3 was completed, providing space for larger collection items. Prepare to be amazed by an incredible camera collection, a restored local gunsmith shop, a vintage barber shop, military memorabilia, remarkable appliances, and an awe-inspiring local church display.

Mr. Isett's unwavering passion for preserving history and family heirlooms shines through every corner of the museum. Step into the past as you explore displays that depict the ways of living in bygone eras. Experience how these objects have shaped our lives and gain a deeper appreciation for the past's contributions to our present. The Isett family and dedicated staff are committed to continuing Melvin and Beulah's vision, ensuring the preservation of Huntingdon's rich heritage.

You won’t want to miss this remarkable journey at the Isett Heritage Museum, where history comes alive. Don't forget to visit the gift shop after your tour for a memento of this...

Recently the manager, Justina Hall, of Isett Heritage Museum came to make a presentation at our Church’s Senior Luncheon. Her presentation was absolutely amazing! I could not believe how easily and fluently she shared the history and facts about the Museum from Mr. Isett’s young life, age 15, and beyond and the dream that he and Mrs. Isett had to display and preserve Huntingdon County History. Some of the particular items from years and years ago that she told a about was so very interesting. She did an absolutely amazing and fantastic job. It was obvious she is passionate about her job and works diligently to preserve the Isett’s dream and heritage. I was very touched when she shared that in making any decision required on her job, she asked herself two questions: 1) Would it be good for the museum; 2) What would Mr. Isett do? Simply beautiful! The Museum is blessed to have such a devoted, faithful and passionate manager. I visited the museum about 1 1/2 years ago for the first time and was absolutely blown away by everything! Simply could not believe the items on display, the beautiful arrangement of each display in each building. All of Huntingdon County should visit. They would be very proud! Thank you, Justina, for coming and for a job very well done! It was wonderful and all the comments I heard after the luncheon were so positive...

We stopped by this quite unique museum, expecting to see an interesting collection of Americana. It turned out to be so very much more. Katrina, our "tour guide" was outstanding, friendly, knowledgeable, and such a great ambassador to this oustanding museum. She has a fantastic personality and is so knowledgeable abiut the museum and the local history. Mr. Isett has assembled such a unique anazing collection, and i doubt there is any other place to see such an assortment of antiques and Americana. Antique farm equipment, memorabilia, antique and classic cars, war memorabilia, microcasm of life in bygone times. I could never adequately descibe the assortment of interesting things to see, including many items from the 1800's. And even more recent. The museum has so much to offer, interesting and so many interesting things you may never see elsewhere and never in the same museum. Anyone in driving distance is surely missing out if they dont make the trip. A unique experience well...

If you have time to do the personal tour, do it. Our tour guide..Justina? Did a fabulous job filling us in on all of the local history that many of the pieces represented. This is one man's personal collection, that includes not only items pertaining to local history, but other pieces from every other walks of life such as farming, tin making, radio, TV, music, sewing, housekeeping, miniature trains and trolleys, full sized tractors and cars. There is also one floor dedicated to research. The property is beautifully situated on 188 acres with stunning views from every side, and only slightly off the beaten path. Well worth the drive, even if you're not from the area.

$12 entry fee, and worth every penny. Three buildings filled with an amazing collection of period items and primitives. I've considered myself knowledgeable in these kinds of items, but they surprised me more than once with something I'd never heard of before, much less seen. Absolutely recommend you not miss this museum if you're in the area!
