Disappointed by the Splash Pad Area and Overall Maintenance

I visited the Bark Park at Heritage Park mainly to check out the dog splash pad, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find much information beforehand, so I wanted to share my experience and hopefully save others some time.

There is a large splash pad area, but it’s not fenced in, so you can’t safely let your dog off-leash. There’s also a very small fenced-in splash zone with two fire hydrants that spray water, but you have to keep holding a button for the water to work, and the area is mostly taken up by rocks, making it even more cramped.

We ended up going to the regular dog park area instead, but that was also disappointing, very poorly maintained, with dog waste everywhere and a water fountain seem to be leaking making a huge puddle full of stagnant, dirty water.

It’s a shame because this park has potential to be amazing with just a little upkeep and a few thoughtful changes. As it stands now, I won’t...

This dog park is great. There are 3 sections: small, large, and a mix of both. They have a maintenance rotation betweet the 3 sections to allow grass to grow back and to clean from urine, which is fantastic bc it gets stincky in the summer (not that I'd know bc it's my 1st summer here but it already smells). Anyway, the people are really nice and friendly. I've only been during the morning and people say "good morning", make great conversation, and ask how you are. Ppl bring dog toys and leave them for dogs to play with. Dogs share all toys. I really like that since I'm moving and all of my dogs toys are currently in boxes. Also, they have a water splash section; it allows your pup to cool off, it's fantastic! All worth 5 star rating, however, my dog LOVES to submerge himself in water. He does not like splashers. I would like to see a waterhose and a tub in the large dog section. I think it would benefit other dogs, not just mine. Overall, this is a...

I really like this park. I appreciate they have separate mini water parks, 1 for kids and 1 for your dogs. For the most part, people are friendly and most dogs are too. I have been there 3 times in the last 2 weeks. The first 2 times were no trouble, but the third time my dog was attacked by 3 dogs. The owner of 2 did try and help separate the dogs while the owner of the single dog was in a conversation with a few other dog owners and not watching their dogs.

Update: Most of the dog owners are great and responsible for their pets. Occasionally you might meet someone who thinks they own the park and can keep a field to themselves by saying their dog is aggressive even though the rules specify "No aggressive...

Wonderful dog park! It has two different splash pads for dogs, a small, med & large separate parks but you can take your dogs in to any of them. I've only ran across a man who brought his aggressive little dog in, but the dog was only aggressive to humans. The dog did have a muzzle on but it would jump up on back of my legs & try to bite. It didn't hurt but it startled me. I was glad the dog didn't do it to my brother who is 75 because we definitely would've had an issue. But I've only seen that guy there 1 time. Clean bathrooms too. 😁 On this day there were way more dogs than usual but it was fun for all as you can see.

I bring my dogs to walk here even though it's a little further from my home, they enjoy meeting other dogs. The dog runs are well-kept and are a decent size. Two out of the three different dog runs are open at any time and one is for large dogs and the other one is for small dogs. One of the three runs would be shut down for maintenance on an alternating basis. This is why the dog runs are in such great shape. It also has a doggie water park, to let your Pooch to cool off.
