Hayley Hendricks Park — Attraction in Henderson

It's a nice clean family oriented park. The large field of grass is extremely beautiful and very green. The park is well maintained. It's never ever crowded. Or even close to capacity for that matter. On a spring beautiful Saturday there wouldn't be more then a dozen families out there. It's an enormous space for how little it's used. Making it a perfect hidden gem. Nice to let your dogs run. Great to take the kids. The playground is pretty well nice with somewhat modern jungle gym and other things little kids can climb around on. It's a little off the main drag. So that's why it's never crowed with folks. The big field of grass is nice area to throw the ball around to eachother. Or to your dog that loves to chase after it. The field is so vast the dogs can run all day long and never get to the other side of the park. There is a skate park as well for the teen ages. In my humble opinion it could be brought a little up to date. It seems a pretty good course for beginners and younger kids starting out. I think the more advanced teenager would probably prefer some place else. The green green grass is the pride of the park. They must water it whenever and however much the city feels they need to. It's obviously overly watered. But with that said. One would be hard pressed to find greener grass in all of the city. There are great big giant trees as well. And a few places in the park offer excellent shade sites. Good place to bring your loved ones. Lay out a blanket and have a good old fashioned picnic. Those with kids looking for an inexpensive fun time. Would probably enjoy an old fashioned picnic. Just don't forget to bring your sports equipment. A great park to take the dog off the leash. And let them run some of their energy out. Chase after the ball for tons of yards and more yards. With the less then a crowd around. It does make a great spot for the dogs to run with the wind. Yes indeed it's a hidden gem off the streets of the older part of Henderson. But very much still A family environment and good place for the kids to play. Extremely sad that as an American citizen we can not even sit in the park and feel the grass under our feet anytime we want. I seen a few people in the park as I drove by a little after midnight, so I assumed that the park was open, and I took off my shoes to feel the grass beneath me. Not even 2 minutes later I was getting accosted and harassed by HENDERSON police🚔👮👮‍♂️🚔👮‍♂️👮‍♂️ for literally just sitting in the park...after pressuring me to consent to a pat down when I was clearly no threat and being cooperative and forthcoming with them then was asked if I was under the influence of anything then placed my property in my car and gave me a warning and told me don't get into my car until they were no longer in sight 🚓👮‍♂️🫡🙄 then they wonder why nobody likes cops... even when you're minding your own business not doing anything wrong they harrass you and try to trap you or find something to take you to...
