Hey everyone, bathrooms are broken. There are four portapotties that look like they’ve seen ‘Nam.

Also, if anyone thinks the grassy area around the broken bathrooms looks like a nice place to walk, don’t.

Just drove all the way from Albuquerque, NM only to discover that the “grass” was a swamp of backed up sewage. No tape around the area. No warning. Looks normal. Like a lawn on a slope. It was like poop quicksand, got me real good. My foot sunk in and I knew I was a goner.

I don’t even post reviews. I’ve maybe done one in my life. This, though, this was worth warning the general public about.

Ps, if you were looking for things to do in Maryland, as this is the Welcome Center, The place was closed at 3pm. No brochures or anything out other than hotel coupons?

BEAUTIFUL native wildflower field, tho! Great views. Just come here to take a picture and hit go anywhere else to use the bathroom and to get some local info.

PSS- I just saw from another review that the bathrooms have been broken for over five months?!...

I don't usually write reviews on rest areas. Most of the ones I've stopped at are pretty nice, this one... it's kinda gross. The porta potties outside spell pretty bad and the bathrooms work, but they're not very clean, and the trashcan outside that building was overflowing. But what made me stop and write this was the vending machine. Beware. If it misses a drink, it doesn't cancel, it refunds you six nickels instead of quarters. At least, that's what happened to me Three stars though because the scenery is quite nice. They also have some flowers around the property that look pretty well...

My 1st time parking at this location was on 06/20/24. Beautiful location. Parking spots for tractor trailers are wide, yet not long enough, or perhaps the spaces are long enough, but the space needed to pull up and leave is definitely lacking. Therefore, it would be wise to be careful how you position your equipment while parking here. As you enter this rest area, 1 sign points to the left, and it says: 'Trucks', and the other points to the right, and it says 'Trailers'. I did drive over to the right, and that area was just like the other side. It's still a very...

I happened to stop here at night, but there wasn't very much to do here anyhow. It appeared to have had alot more to do in the past, but has since lost itself to time. If you are a true long haul driver you may "find" something for you here. However, i don't think there is much here for families with children anymore. It's a definite stop with latrines if in an emergency arises, but there is no longer even vending machines or anything else welcoming here today.

One of the best stops on the road. Clean, quiet, and with a killer view. There are picnic tables sitting right on the edge of a scenic overlook — perfect spot to eat, chill, and soak in the view of the river down below. The overlook itself is right by the Welcome Center and opens up to a beautiful landscape. Inside, everything’s clean, there are vending machines, and even a small museum about Maryland’s history. Great place to stretch out and breathe easy.
