drove a long ways (Seattle ) and it was night and my boyfriend heard that Hialeah Park has wild flamingos that like to hang out there. We wanted to see them atleast once . And we love to play slots, when we got there about 10pm we park our RV in the horse track racing area .we were greated by a parking attendant who said "oh yeah, park here that's fine" . we went in for about two but we were very exhausted and decided to rest for a few hours and then go back in . while we were resting a security guard female yells out to us "you can't sleep hear you gotta go you can't be here this is private property you have to go, get on your way. There wasn't a single car in the parking lot accept for uS. at that point we had slept for maybe 2 hours but we didn't want to leave yet, we wanted to go in and try the slots . so we did and left the RV parked, and went in. at that time my boyfriend talk to the inside security and a few guys in suits and ties said "no don't worry about it ,you're fine" . so we played & luck was not on our side that day so we decided we better go we were down $300 . we went back out to our lil Motorhome . and sat in the back and had a bowl of cereal ..and that lady comes back again started yelling at us through the window . "I told you to leave, you need to leave ,you need to get out of here ,she said " we were getting irritated as we were being harassed that we had spent all that money. my BF talked to the lady and he did challenger with a few comments . so she went crying to her supervisor who then later came. and he was very unprofessional he used curse words and told us didn't care how much money we spend . just to get out of there . now grant it our motorhome doesn't look all that pretty but it's our motorhome and we travel all over the country and we make good money., not that I should have to explain myself but boy did we feel "underdressed" there's no reason for them to discriminate. but they did .. at least the security guard did ( and I guess he was supposed to be the supervisor in charge of everybody who patrols that parking. well, we're going to get a new motor home really soon. we are looking and we did find when we like more than our little Toyota RV, but we will never ever ever go back to Hialeah Park.... well that was our experience . if you choose to go good good luck and I hope you...
Read moreHad an audition here for a poker dealer role and did not get hired due to my pitching( which if you’re new to dealing, it’s common you will have that issue and with repetition you will get better) and a legal raise I didn’t catch( which the legal raise is rare and you will only see it from seasoned players), but mind you, I collected the bets accurately, collected folded cards rapidly and announced the winning hands properly. The game I auditioned for was PLO, with no blinds ( the manger’s request.) I worked for 4 months at another casino with my pitching being average. I’ve dealt numerous hold ‘em and PLO hands and even PLO8. Again, this is a small poker room, so they don’t have various games. I noticed that the same position is open, but months ago they never hired me. Reality is because I’m Caucasian American, who also speaks fluent Spanish. Been living in Miami for 33 years, this is typical this UNFAIR TREATMENT. Any tourist thinking about coming here. DONT! Go to the Hard rock. Better venue and no nepotism, better ambience.
Editing this since they responded. well, you say that the decision is based on qualifications and audition performance and you also say that it can be discouraging when someone does not get the position. NO. It is discouraging when there is discrimination and nepotism involved.Well let me tell you I obviously had a qualification since I’ve worked at another casino and it was on my resume and as far as performance, like I said, I only made two mistakes in that performance audition other than that everything else was good. You can stop trying to save face with your little response. The fact of the matter is that this was...

Was in Miami and usually play poker at Magic City, last day in Miami decided on a change and went to Hialeah Park Casino (in hindsight a huge mistake). Poker room was small with only a couple of tables running but immediately was sat down, so that was good. After about 20 minutes hit a high hand for $300, so so far its going great. Win the high hand and hand over my license (from the country I live in, nowhere weird, I live in a small country in the Caribbean, originally from Australia). This is where the insane started.
First, they refused to pay based on a drivers license, something no other casino in the USA (or any casino I've been to worldwide) has ever done, insisting they will only pay with a passport. As I'm leaving early next morning they force me to catch an Uber back to my hotel to grab my passport, and back to the Casino (only $30, but why was it even required???).
Second, once I get back with my passport, they want me to complete foreign (i.e. IRS) tax forms, and deduct 30% ($90) from the payout. This is not legal as I understand there is an exempt limit before 30% foreign withholding kicks in, which I believe $300 is well below.
Throughout all this the staff were rude. The poker floor manager even screaming in my face. The only staff I can say were reasonable was the security officer who took my complaint (though no response subsequently received on refunding the $90 stolen by the casino or $30 in unnecessary...
