We were impressed with the scenery here. There isn't a lot of brush and undergrowth to block the view of the trees, so the views are lovely. We saw quite a few maples on a visit in late summer, so we returned in the fall and found the scenery amazing! I'd give it 5 stars except the trails are not well-marked. We took a picture of the map that they have posted at the beginning of the trails, but what was on the ground didn't always seem to correspond with the map. We appreciate whoever posted a picture of the map on Google, which I was able to print and take along on our second visit.

I visited this preserve to hike the AllTrails Pleasant Valley Nature Preserve Loop and found a wide trail of mostly gravel that's easily walked. The early morning quiet solitude was nice and I was amused by the cave cage - clearly no one is getting into that cave! There's a bathroom that's not too far from the parking lot on the left of the trail walking it clockwise. If you walk the trail counterclockwise, you'll have quite a wait.

A lot of work has been done to this park thanks to the Rotary club. Nice short tails with good switchbacks used to make it less steep. Freshly updated and expanded trails. We go here frequently. A real treasure for High Ridge area residents.
