This park is amazing. There are so many things to climb. The only drawback I could find was little shade. There were only two swings that I saw. But there are so many cool slides climbing ropes zip lines. Tree houses as well. There is a river area running through it that is dry now (mid September). I was told the splash pad and river will be on in May. It was so much fun even without those. My son is 7 and he had a blast. They also have a skate park on the other side of the parking lot. It looked nice too rather large. There was a food truck in the parking lot with ice cream and pretzels and drinks. The bathrooms were new and clean. A lady there told me the splash pad had just closed September 15th so that was pretty awesome. Most places like that in Virginia are only open Memorial Day to Labor Day. This was about a forty minute drive from where I live but it was totally worth it. My son spent about two hours exploring the entire place. It was a bit crowded when we went but I think that’s typical for a new park. Plus there is such a large area to play in even with a lot of people there you don’t feel boxed in. They had 3 different zip lines as well. I can’t say enough about this place. My only complaint would be lack of shade as I have a child that hates sunscreen but if you go on a cloudy day it’s awesome. Update~went back first week of May water is on in the lazy river. It’s not too cold either. My son loves it. I forgot to mention they have several musical instruments kids can play even drums. Lots of benches to sit at and they have a walking...
Read moreWow! What a cool park. We decided to come out on an overcast day and it was still packed. Relatively new and attracting a lot of attention, I presume this place will be busy for an indeterminate future. I took my 8 year old son and his friends and they still did not want to leave after 2.5 hours at the park... Pros: Gives kids plenty of room to use their creativity to satisfy boredom Wide variety of play structures for all ages - traditional "jungle gym", spider web/canvas structure, rope bridge, seated zip lines, musical chimes Splash pad, man made "river", and misty mounds give several options for water play on a hot day
Cons: It's busy, so be prepared to be around a lot of people and maybe dress your kids in bright/distinct colors Not enough seating for parents/caregivers - I found myself having to find spots on the ground. I saw some cut logs on the woods edge, which provided relief for some, but I think there should be more seating around the playground...

I went for a bucket swing for my 1 year old and there are none. :( She isn't quite walking yet, (plus she tries to put everything in her mouth) so we had to avoid the mulch area. I should mention that the mulch area is the best shaded. The side with flat, spongy ground is better suited for a younger kiddo, but no shade and metal playground is a recipe for disaster. So, 3-stars because as a mom with a toddler still learning to walk, and who didn't think to bring a swimsuit and towel, the trip to the park was a bit disappointing. Felt like they forgot about the
