We recently visited for the first time with our 2-year-old daughter. The website listed closing time as 5 p.m., so we arrived at 2 thinking three hours would be plenty for a toddler. We were also aware of staff shortages from their Facebook updates. The place felt a little deserted, which we assumed was because of the holiday.

Admission was straightforward with one basic ticket, one all-inclusive, and our daughter was free, which we appreciated. However, we were surprised not to be greeted upon entering. Staff were helping others, so it was not a big issue, but it set the tone for the visit.

We began in the barn feeding the horses, then went to the petting zoo. The staff there were polite but not very proactive. I had to ask about the brushes and safety tips for grooming, and it was not clear if guests were allowed inside the pens since no one explained. Seeing photos online of people up close with the goats made it a little confusing.

The pig race was fun and well done. We especially want to compliment the young blonde girl, the owner’s daughter. She was fantastic at engaging the crowd, clearly loves what she does, and really elevated the experience.

After the race, we went to the café around 3:15, only to find it was already closing. This was frustrating since the website prohibited outside food and we had planned to eat there before staying until 5. By this point, we still had not used our tokens, so leaving early did not make sense.

We headed to Western Town instead. Our daughter loved riding the horse, though paying $6 for just two loops felt steep. We let her go again, which meant using four tokens. The gem mining was neat, but again, staff seemed unsure how to guide guests. We had to ask, “What do we do?” before getting any direction. Staff were kind once prompted but would benefit from training in customer service and communication.

When I asked about the wagon ride, I was told Western Town closed at 4, which meant we missed out. It was disappointing that this was not communicated beforehand, especially since it limited what we could do with the tokens we purchased.

We ended the day with the main show, which was charming and another highlight thanks to the owner’s daughter and the well-cared-for horses. The only downside was noticeable trash and old food under the bleachers.

Overall, we had an okay time, but it was not worth the $56 we spent. We did not get to use all our tokens, could not eat on-site, and missed several activities due to early closings. On the positive side, the animals seemed healthy and cared for, and the owner’s daughter truly stood out as a bright spot. With better communication, consistent hours, and some customer service training for staff, this could be a much more...

I visited Gettysburg many times while my sister was in school and never knew this was there. With suggestions from other parents I decided to visit with my animal loving five year old. After reading their website I chose to do the morning visit from 10am -2pm. There are little horses as soon as you walk in, aka the welcoming committee. There are three horses who were walking around the grounds throughout the visit, they were VERY pleasant. We enjoyed the pig races, mining, main event show and pony ride.

COVID-19.... There is Zero social distancing and no mask enforcement. There are signs but it doesn’t make a difference. An announcement was made for masks to be worn during the show since we were inside but many people didn’t have them to put on. A sign should be on the entrance door before people enter stating this, at least people will be prepared.

The bleachers have “x“ for seating but families have 2-4 people and there is no real staggering or 6ft distancing. They did wipe the saddles in between each rider for the pony rides. If you are not comfortable with the limited pandemic accommodations... I suggest staying outside or not going. They have two sets of bathrooms and a hand washing station next to the main stage. There is no sanitizer or hand hygiene station in Western town.

Staffing The have limited staffing and everyone has a specific role. There is no one you can go to if you need assistance. You have to interrupt someone from doing their role which disrupts the flow. Their female restroom was horrendous and I let them know but there was no one to immediately attend to that need. Another example, the mining water was low and the attendant asked another employee for help. He was too busy to assist her because he had another task to complete. She worked it out but it was disheartening that he blew her off. Overall, the staff was VERY friendly and very caring towards the animals.

Extra cost. I purchased the extra package for (mining, food and pony ride) from the beginning. In western town there is a wagon ride that you have to purchase in the general store. I wish this was offered when I initially paid, it’s not a big deal but let me pay for everything at once. The photo with the Unicorn is an additional $5.00 for a picture you take with your phone. This is paid for up front and you’re given a token. The store has a TON of items, you will leave with an item or a crying child... it’s the test of wills.

The day was beautiful and we had a good time. We’d definitely...

My friend and I decided to take our children here today as it looked like an adorable place for the little ones to enjoy. I paid $40 for myself, toddler, and my 6 yr old. My friend paid $60 for herself, and her two daughters 6yr old and 10 yr old. We chose to do all the activities. We arrived at 2:30pm. The girl that sold us our tickets actually talked us into the activities NOT mentioning that we had to be gem mining before 3. We lost out doing that and when we went to go for the wagon ride at 3:19 (ends at 4pm) , the guy that was driving the tractor stated that he had to leave early and we weren’t allowed to do the wagon ride. So, we went to go have the kids ride the ponies. I asked the one girl if they hold onto the kids while riding. As it was very rocky where the pony rides were. She stated yes. My son got right on and didn’t even get half way around the circle and he fell off due to the harness wasn’t on right, it slid to the side. I felt like this first experience was not a great one due to the employees. I went and explained everything to the cashier and she stated she could only reimburse me $9 out of the $40 we paid. My friend was reimbursed only $6 out of the $60 she paid. Then the girl at the register stated she couldn’t reimburse our credit cards and we could only have store credit!!! I don’t like giving bad reviews but this was not a great first experience. The only thing great about this place is that the animals are well taken care of and...

There are few places in the area where you can take your family for completely G rated fun and this is one of them! I assumed that this would not be very handicapped friendly, but I was wrong! Aside from two or three places with stones, a barn entrance that required a bit of assistance, and the bathroom being a bit snug yet still usable, the whole place was accessible. It was far easier to get around and more enjoyable than our last trip to Lake Tobias with my walker. If you need wheels for mobility, I do suggest going with thicker rather than thin wheels if you have a choice. Filled with a special breed of little horses, this wonderful park feels just as magical as it did when I was a child 30 years ago. Be sure to catch at least one of their two daily shows. The park entrance fee is truly reasonable when compared to other local attractions of a similar nature. The fee is a bit less if you order online ahead of time. The petting zoo was great fun, horses and donkeys wandered the park looking for food and petting. There is a cafe available, with reasonable prices. You also have the option to bring food with you and use their pavilion and picnic tables. They do allow reentry to the park when you picnic there. One could spend the whole day with the whole family, from toddlers to grandparents and all will have a good time. This is well worth the beautiful drive!

We love it here! Great fun for the whole family. Something for everyone to do. I remember going here as a child, now I take my children here. They let a good amount of mini horses out to roam free, that you can feed and interact with. You can buy food for them at the giftshop. No outside food allowed for your safety. So we just pack a lunch and go out to the car to eat, then reenter to finish the day. There is a small kitchen where you can sit inside and buy lunch, enjoy a bit to eat. There is good food at good prices. You can tell the staff really loves their jobs. They make you feel welcomed, like you're a old friend. You can tell that they enjoy what they do. Everytime we go here it's always a wholesome time. There's goats, pigs a llama, a zebra, donkey and a few cats you can see and interact with as well. Please keep in mind the animals are still animals and may nip. Especially watch your small children who do not hold their hands flat when feeding them. My one year old got bit, so keep in mind it's always your responsibility to keep you and yours safe. Definitely a great way to spend a day. We celebrated my daughters 5th and her 6th birthday here. It's one of her favorite places. I'm sure we will be back again! 10 outta 10 highly recommended

This place is run down and not worth the money. It’s $3 per token and to do every activity with your child it’s $45 in tokens. None of which are well maintained or cared for. $6 for a short two lap pony ride around a 5 ft diameter circle, $6 a person for a wagon ride around an empty field, $6 to take a picture of your kid with a “unicorn” on your own phone… A mini horse bit me on the arm while there. There are signs around the property that say “you assume the risk of equine activities”, but for a place that advertises for small children, none of the animals there should be biting people just petting them and feeding them as they walk around the property. I’m glad it was me and not my child who was bitten. For all the money you spend to do the mediocre activities, you’d think they’d keep the place up a lot nicer, and that the staff would be more friendly. The kids who worked there seemed absolutely miserable. A complete waste of money and time. Don’t bother.
