Beacon Hill Park Disc Golf Club offers a delightful mix of natural beauty and engaging gameplay, making it a worthwhile destination for both novice and seasoned disc golfers. On my second visit to this club, I had the chance to explore both of their courses and enjoyed the varied experiences each one provided.
The grassy course is perfect for beginners and those looking for a more relaxed game. It’s well-maintained, with wide-open spaces that make it easier to navigate and aim your throws. This course is fun and accessible, providing a great balance of challenge and enjoyment without being overwhelming.
However, the course set amidst the trees and dense vegetation posed a different story. While the natural setting is undeniably beautiful, the tight pathways and abundant obstacles proved to be quite challenging for me and my wife, who are still honing our disc golf skills. Advanced players might relish the difficulty, but for us, it was a bit too tough to handle.
One of the highlights of our visit was the ability to take a leisurely picnic. The park boasts numerous grassy areas perfect for laying down a blanket and enjoying some lunch. It’s a serene environment, ideal for unwinding between games or simply soaking in the surroundings.
Additionally, the park facilities are commendable. The bathrooms were clean and equipped with running water, which is always a plus. This attention to maintaining the amenities adds to the overall positive experience at Beacon Hill Park Disc Golf Club.
In conclusion, Beacon Hill Park Disc Golf Club is a charming spot that caters to a range of disc golf enthusiasts. Whether you're there for a casual game on the grass or to test your skills in a more challenging setting, the park’s natural beauty and well-kept amenities make it a great place to...
Read moreThanks to the Boy Scouts for putting it in, but what a waste of their tremendous efforts and resources. Bridges and stairs and multiple tees / baskets seem good on paper, but the design is horrible.
Several tees force you to walk across fairways, some holes cross soccer fields or walking paths, one hole dings you for hitting an outhouse (like mini golf?), some holes are in the middle of forest, some holes throw out of forest into park, and the some holes have no legitimate line other than a thumber.
A lot of amateur disc golfers think hard = good. This place is hard not because of skill or challenge, but poor design. Do not let newbies play here if you hope they’ll stick with disc golf. If you are an Am wanting to play better, go elsewhere unless you are with a group, ideally including people who live in this neighborhood.
It’s possible the neighborhood people who have adjusted the original design (some good ideas and some very bad) are trying to dissuade outsiders from playing. If so, it’s working. I was here on a beautiful Sunday morning and saw only one family playing (they were searching for a disc and then left). I walked up from my round at 11am to an empty parking lot. It’s a shame because there is a lot of possibilities...
Read moreI hesitated writing this review because I like having Beacon Hill Disc Golf Park all to myself. I am afraid if I write my true feelings more people will come here and it will get crowded. But, I felt it my duty to society to rave about Beacon Hill Disc Golf Park. It's one of the best disc golfing experiences in the state for sure. The park is well maintained, as are the disc golf signs and baskets. You have options to throw from Blue (long) and Red (short) and there is a full 18 holes. In addition to that there is an awesome 9 hole putting course, a really fun feature I haven't seen anywhere else. The back 9 are my favorite, so many great and challenging shots in the scrub forest that is really pretty all year round. Thank you to all those who keep this course up! It's a great service to...
