It was fun if you stay at the bottom in the small slower area, but it still has current, and no climbing. Multiple times a week rescue workers and emts are needed to save people from falls off the rocks or being caught in the current. My husband serves as a cautionary tale. He was climbing around the rocks with my son when 1 slick rocked caused him to be taken by the falls. He fell 40ft, busted his head open and had to hang on to a log sticking out of the freezing water for over 30 minutes waiting for a rescue team. He is one of the lucky ones I was told by emts because many deaths have been attributed to these very pretty but dangerous falls. He had to have 13 staples and 2 stitches to piece the back of his head together. Do not let this happen to...
Read moreAwesome place to take your kids!! I would take kids 7 and up since it can be extremely slippery but of course it's up to you. Bring a picnic lunch and plan to stay a good while. Come out early for a close spot to park since you will be parking on the side of the windy road! There's a small parking area near by however, it is full of holes and can be dangerous if you're not cautious! Take a walk down the river just be sure to go slow and don't step on the brown algae (it will make you BUST YOUR BUTT, hence the name!). This place is worth an entire day of lounging, eating and jumping off the rock ledge into the refreshing cool water below! Just be sure you brought your biceps as you will have to scale the side of a rock to get to the...
Read moreWhen we went the water level was really high so the current was very strong but the 5 of us (ages 46-15) were still able to swim/drift to the rope and pull ourselves over to the side to get out of the current to climb on the rocks and get to the base of the falls to swim/drift again. My son N law used the same rope to climb the big rock to walk to a 15 foot ledge that he and my youngest daughter (15) jumped off of. Rocks were slippery, wear good traction water shoes. I dont recommend for small kids or elderly. Go see Bridal Viel falls and Dry Falls that's not far from here. Be sure to stop at the little store called Jackson Hole Trading Post, they have homemade Amish jams, homemade jewelry and awesome Gem...
