Hillsboro Brookwood Library — Attraction in Hillsboro

I love the Hillsboro Library! This is because of the huge selection of books, movies, games, etc. You can even check out things like kindles and waffle irons! There's a really big kids section with lots of books and some computers with games aimed for kids. There's also other sections downstairs like the Young Adult section, DVD section, and others.

If it's the summer time and you're looking for something to do, I would highly recommend the summer reading program. This gives kids and teens a motivation to read more. Reading one book, I believe, gets you a free book if you are child. Reading 5 books, I think, gets you a free book as a teen. Not only do you get a free books, but you also get some prizes like free ice cream from Sonic, a free basket ball ticket, and more! And, if you are a teen- you can enter to win prizes by doing things like reading 100 pages, watching a movie based off of a book, etc. With the slips that you get for every time you do one of these things, you can get prizes like Amazon Gift cards, Barnes and Noble gift cards, and even a phone!

I love the Washington County Library. The inter-library loan system is outstanding. Having access to every branch within the county makes requesting library items so fast. Top marks also for their online patron account system. It is very intuitive and has flexibility and a lot of option. For example, if you want to make a request for an item but want to put in the request for a future date, that option is available.

The staff here are top notch. They are all very friendly and helpful. But truly the biggest compliment I give them is for their patience. I've heard conversations they've had with let's just say 'difficult' patrons and they always stay cool, calm, and professional. I give them mad respect.

With the recent remodeling and expansion to the second level, there is even more of the library to enjoy. Also, behind the library is a pond with trails that go back into the business park area. This makes the Hillsboro Main Library a hot spot for people to come feed the ducks and just hangout or go for a walk.
