"You have to have a baby or a dog to come here!" One pleasant retiree walking his Golden Retriever warned me. This park has miles of paved trails that are great for walking a stroller around, biking, or even just walking. They border the Back River, and you can enjoy beautiful views and wildlife on your walk. The park used to have no leash requirement, which was good and bad for non-dog owners, since you always get a few bad apples with out of control mutts running loose. However, due to those apples, the park now requires dogs to be leashed. Much of the trails are shaded, making it the perfect place for a sunny day. There's also a picnic area with tables and benches down along with historical plaques. There are no bathroom facilities or port-a-potties along the...

As a local Hingham resident, I walk in the park every day that I can; it’s a gem for the greater community, and I highly encourage everybody to get out and check this place out.

I’m lucky enough to have this park within walking distance of my condo, and it’s one of the most underutilized parks in the area. There are both trails and paved paths, so it’s great for biking, walking, hiking and lots of other active activities. One thing to be aware of is that sometimes people walk the dogs off leash at this park. Even though there’s a local law against it, people still don’t follow the rules, so if you fear dogs because she’s on the alert for a dog to run up to...

Bare cove is such a great place, it has a really even walking path that it paved. There is beautiful trees, you can see the marsh and walk all the way to the water or you can take another path and walk amongst the beautiful tree lined path. You can bring your dog, your baby or even your grandparents. Walk as little or as far as you like. It is beautiful all year long, there is a big world flower garden when you walk in during the spring/summer and in the fall all the foliage is beautiful. Winter and spring there are some great mud puddles if you aren't afraid...

Things to know before you go: 📍Bare Cove Park Bare Cove Park Drive, Hingham MA 🅿️ There’s plenty of parking at the entrance gate on Bare Cove Park Drive, which turns off of Fort Hill Street (drive past the recreation fields all the way to the end of the road where you’ll see the entrance and the parking area) 🚂 The West Hingham Commuter Rail train stop is on Fort Hill Street, right opposite Bare Cove Park Drive ⏰ HOURS: open daily from dawn to dusk 🥾 Bare Cove Park's many miles of paved paths and woodland trails are perfect for walking, jogging, bicycling, or just enjoying the outdoors.
🚻 there are port-a-potty style toilets dotted around the park (and marked on their online trail map) 🐶 leashed dogs are welcome (but just keep in mind that there will be runners and bicyclists, so if you pupper tends to lunge at bicycles or chase runners, you might want to reconsider) ⭐️Prohibited in Bare Cove Park: -Guns of any type, bows and arrows, and explosives -Motorized vehicles -Open fires -Metal Detectors -Uncontrolled Pets -Glass containers and alcoholic beverages -Plant Removal 🍴Downtown Hingham is super cute, and well worth visiting as well. There are tons of coffee shops (Check out Brewed Awakenings for coffee and treats, and The Square Cafe or Stars on Hingham Harbor for some delicious food!) 🍦And then end off with ice cream from Nona’s Ice Cream or drive a little ways down Rt 3A to experience food and ice cream from the vintage JJ’s Dairy Hut

Welcome to Bare Cove Park located in Hingham, MA @barecoveparkhingham 🥾✨ Local hikes on the weekends are the highlight of our week. We love exploring new trails with Morgan and one of our favorites is Bare Cove Park. It’s huge, extremely dog-friendly, and has beautiful sights throughout. You’ll see some pine, oak, beech, birch, maple, cherry, sumac and cedar along the edges of the roadways and paths and will share the park with birds, long-tailed weasel, mink, striped skunk, red and gray fox, white tailed deer, eastern cottontail rabbit, meadow vole, coyote, opossum, raccoon and field mice. ✔️Save this for your adventures on the south shore and send to someone you want to go with! #southshorema #hingham #hinghamma
