Historic Johnson Farm is an incredible window into life in the 1800s and The early days of the church. Pretty wild how much history happened here. Also what blew me away is all the 1800s modern features this home had (for the time period). Fireplaces had warming cabinets, a well pump was inside the home, they had summer kitchens with double doors to make the perfect cheese, centralized fireplace to warm the entire house in winter, windows designed for lighting perfection, there are no hallways so it's a maximized, efficient, use of space, 1st floor rooms for giving birth or guests, doors placed strategically so guests like Joseph Smith have a private entrance to work from. The missionary guides are fantastic and have such an indepth knowledge of this wonderful place. Very peaceful here. Bring picnic food as many tables exist to spend time reflecting.

A neat historical stop in the beautiful countryside of Ohio. The missionaries staffing the site are always wonderful and inspirational. Everyone is welcome but it is also a must see for Mormon visitors because of the amazing things that happened at the farm. It’s a bit of a drive from Kirtland so plan for the time needed and check the hour schedule. If you have extra time you can also hit the Amish restaurant Mary Yoder’s which is not too far out of the way.

One of the best Latter-day Saint historic sites in all of Ohio. A detailed restoration of the John Johnson Farm, where Joseph Smith resided for a time and where some of the most important revelations in Latter-day Saint history (including Doctrine and Covenants 76) were received. Furthermore, the tour is very detailed about the history of the structure and the area. It is a beautiful area and a very scenic drive to get there.

Hi Elder Dixon, I was with the girls trip last weekend with the six sisters! I just wanted to let you and your wife know how special it was to be able to come and be taught and edified by you both! You each have such a special way of sharing your testimonies and the sacred love that you feel for those that you are teaching about. We will never forget the time that we had there learning about those amazing pioneers! On a personal note, the day that we got back, my husband was called into the bishopric. We currently have four young children and It would seem that the timing of this might be inconvenient. However, the strength and testimony that I was able to soak in as I was there learning from your wife, as well as the amazing pioneers, helped me to joyfully accept this new adventure in our lives. Thank you so much for giving us that! We...

The senior missionaries here were very accommodating and interested in each family that walked in the door. The tour was wonderful and enjoyable. Yes, we had to move along for the next group behind us but we were treated respectfully. The Johnson family is one of the very interesting families who were early converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and looking around at the house, and the wonderful restoration done on the home, gives great insight to the lives, and personality of the...
