Nice break from Tiger Mtn. Not many people out today so the solitude was nice. No pass needed & restroom is locked for winter, FYI. Trail is just to your left as you're walking to the gate which is road "F". Easy to miss but if you walk down the FSR a bit you can still pick up the trail. Pieced together a nice 5 mile loop so you can make it as long and with as much elevation as you'd like. Used Gaia (map of loop in photos) to track my progress and follow connector trails. Total was just over 900' elev gain so pretty easy.

This is an excellent regional park with dozens of miles of trail. There are several creeks, namely Carey and Holder. The trails ascend Elk Ridge and Holder Ridge. There are several wide forest roads and narrow dirt trails. There are several wooden bridges. There is one main trailhead with a small parking area and a large horse trailer parking area. There is a restroom at the trailhead.

Enjoyed the trails on my Missouri Foxtrotter horse. Disappointing 8 plus years after Culvert removel on Road A, the route was not repaired for safe recreation use. Need tread, not $$$bridges. King county parks responsible for Taylor Mountain Forest keep road that ends in good shape but minimal effort putting gravel on trails, maintaining Sherwood trail tread, brush cutting.
