Reviewing for transparency.
I am looking for a venue for Sept 2026. I loved the look of Henry Manor but tours are only during open house dates. We found a place we really liked but I still wanted to tour Henry Manor. After our first venue tour I learned of some things that are needed for our specific wedding venue so I thought while we wait for the next tour date let me email some questions to help determine if this is a good fit for us.
I emailed Stephanie with some questions that were not already answered on the website to help me determine if I should wait to tour. Stephanie did not answer any of my questions by email. She offered a phone call but I asked in a follow up email if she could answer by email because that is my preference for communication at this time.
In part of her reply she said, “Answers to most of your questions (and more!) are located at our website. Links are below for your convenience.” I was taken aback by her response because she still didn’t answer my questions. And since I read through the FAQ and pricing prior to emailing her my questions I knew none of my questions were answered there already.
I clicked on the links for fun and what do you know! She took time to update their website with MY questions and updated pricing to add 2026 pricing. I hate using the term gaslighting but she tried to gaslight me by acting like the answers have been there the entire time! A better reply from her could have been these are great questions! So great that I updated our FAQ and pricing to reflect your questions and provided answers to them.
Another part of her email said “I am truly sorry we can't accommodate your request for an individual tour before our open house (just two weeks away!).” I never asked her for a private tour. I asked some simple questions in a personal email to her that she could not be bothered to answer.
This interaction confirmed she is not a person I want to work with for one of life’s biggest milestone events. Her lack of personal response spoke very loudly.
Updating below to add exactly what I sent since you want to mix words around.
Original email to Stephanie with questions: We have been looking at venues and found one we are really interested in. We are still hoping to tour Henry Manor but might have to make a decision before May 3rd.
I have a few questions maybe you can help answer.
• What is your 2026 pricing for a wedding with about 80 guests? • When renting for a wedding is there access to indoor spaces and outdoor spaces? • How accessible is the venue? We have elderly grandparents that do not do well with stairs. • What is the rental start and stop time? Thinking of rehearsal, decorating and getting ready the day of the wedding and what that timeline would look like. • How is the parking for the venue and would there be space for a food truck? • Where are the restrooms located and how many do you have? • Where does the DJ normally setup and is there a dance floor or a designated area for the dance floor?
These questions are very straight forward. Not sure why you think it’s difficult to answer by email when you ended up updating your website with my questions and answered them on there instead of emailing me back.
The gaslighting continues in your apology. “We feel absolutely devastated that you attribute changing the Frequently Asked Questions to a negative intent on our part” Devastated is a very strong emotion for this type of situation. The point I want to address here is that the negative in this is a lack of care and communication from Stephanie. Concern for website updates took a higher priority than communication with a potential...
Read moreTo the staff of the Henry Manor, thank you so much for making our daughter's graduation party so memorable. So many people were talking about how beautiful your property is. We had great weather and the Henry Manor was perfect. Communication was very responsive, prompt and you made the entire experience very easy for us. You were very accommodating to all our our needs and then some. The one thing that put this whole experience over the top was the tent, especially since it was unexpected. Several people that came tonight mentioned they really wanted to see the place and had nothing but great things to say after being there, so hopefully you'll be seeing some more reservations coming your way. I would give you 10 stars if I could but 5 is the most I can give. To anyone reading these reviews and looking for a place to host a special event around the Lancaster area, look no further than the Henry Manor. Thank...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about The Henry Manor. The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff is amazing! Everyone was so kind and tentative to our needs! Rich, especially!!!
We had selected the weekend package for our wedding and cannot preach enough that it was worth every penny! The convenience of having the manor to host guests and the wedding parties throughout the weekend was one of our favorite parts and main reasons we picked this venue!! It really turned into a whole weekend of celebration and everyone had a great time! It was such a fun and unique experience and I wouldn’t change a thing about it!
Everything about this place is stunning and so unique! There are so many great picture opportunities throughout the property and it photographs beautifully! You will so quickly fall in love with this beautiful venue!!
I wish I could give more...
