Incredible!! This is a must stop if you are traveling on the Natchez Trace Parkway. We spent over an hour exploring and enjoying all the various falls. We continued past the pavement onto the "unimproved" path. It is well marked and worn. There are roots and rocks and it can be slippery when wet. I definitely recommend good shoes. Going down is not strenuous at all but depending on your state of health coming up may be tough. It can be done though! I am overweight and I just took breaks and it was fine! It was worth it and I wasn't going to miss this set of falls! The day we went there was enough run off that we saw 4 separate falls plus the various streams that connected them. Read moreTraveling along the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway, you'll find several waterfalls with Jackson Falls being the most popular. If you're in the area, don't forget to make a quick stop at Fall Hollow Falls however. From the parking area, it's a short 0.3 mile hike down a paved path with wooden bridges taking you across small creeks ending at a wooden deck \ overlook. From this point, the trail continues though it becomes very rocky and steep.
Recommended for visits between March and October, it's a nice walk \ nature trip where dogs are welcome if kept on a leash....
Read moreThis place blew me away! Tranquil woods, the temperature drops a good few degrees once in amongst the trees. It's easy walking with well placed & laid trails. Of course, it's also possible for the more intrepid explorers to go 'off piste' & scramble around down to the waterfalls! In fact, the way the stone had formed is so like a staircase - Mother Nature is kind as well as bountiful. If you're a nature lover, this place is a must! & if you're not, Hollow Falls may just convert u.... Highly recommend this stunning wee beauty shout...
