This was our second time at Bass Lake. The first time we went it was very enjoyable fishing from the pier. This prior visit was too early in the season for boat rental availability. Our most recent visit we reserved a motorized gheenoe early in the morning before leaving and arrived just in time for our reservation, but while checking in there was a possibility they wouldn’t be able to provide the boat we reserved, and we were told that they’re “having issues with batteries”. They did find one that was operational…but 15 min from leaving the beach it began to weaken. We ended up spending the last hour of our two hour fishing plan rowing a gheenoe with a dead battery with only one oar. It was once we returned to the beach that I realized that their gheenoe has a 45lb thrust troller motor connected to a “Starting” type marine battery, and not a deep cycle marine battery designed for troller motors. For people who are paying for a motorized rental, having the correct type of battery for the troller motor would be strongly recommended. Perhaps a simple anchor and rope in each boat would be nice too, for breezy days.

There was very little time to fish in two hours of fighting a constant breeze and a...

We had our I do, bbq at bass lake! We ended up renting the deck and the reception room. Christine was very nice to work with in organizing our event. The only concern I had, was some of the details weren’t followed through on. For example, vehicles not removed from parking lot and cones not up reserving our parking - however, Steve - handled it with kindness. He got the vehicles moved and got parking taken care of quickly and efficiently once requested. The reception room was clean and set up correctly. The media worked well and the views were a delight. Pricing is adequate. I would suggest reviewing the pricing list - it states If you’re a holly springs resident you can get discounted rates - however, they told us you must be a “in city limits” holly springs resident - so we weren’t able to take advantage of city limit rates and that was a complete bummer being we are holly...

First time visiting this place, we came on the 5th of July for some fire works. People apparently know the parking situation is not that easy , so there were lines of cars and a lot of people walking to the location. It’s a perfect spot for this kind of events ( Independence Day celebration). The place was well taken care of , grass nice and cut , organized entrance and personnel taking care of keeping it peaceful and clean. For the event, there were multiple food trucks that weren’t quick enough to help the amount of people trying to grab some food before the fireworks started, and even though it was open very early, a lot of people ended up watching the fireworks standing up on the lines. Live music, portable bathrooms, security and everything an event...

Love this beautiful and tranquil park. It's great for walking. There are trails around the lake and it's ideal for observing nature. There's always a variety of birds and plants to enjoy. We also love the observatory deck and rocking chairs that overlook the lake. They allow fishing and kayaking, also. There's a small nature center that is perfect for small children to learn about animals. They have turtles, snakes and even hedgehogs! Great place to visit any time of day. Nice for a picnic or just relax. There's a small concession stand and a banquet room that can be reserved for events, as well. So glad that we found this lovely park!
