I must admit when my husband first suggested we go out to the middle of the desert in December I thought he was crazy!
Upon arriving I continued that same train of thought. It wasn't until we jumped into the razor and took off into the hills that I understood what the draw to this desert wonderland was.
Climbing up the dunes and racing down them is an experience I can't really explain. But I would recommend it to anyone who has the chance. Unless of course, you have a weak heart, because riding the dunes is not for the faint of heart.
My only complaint is that there is no curfew (or at least it isn't endorced). The camper a few spots down from us was up until 3 or 4 am the whole weekend, which make for a rough nights sleep.
If you don't have the opportunity to go out and ride the dunes just being there (when its quiet) is very breath taking. The sun rise and sunsets over the dunes do not disappoint.

The dunes are plentiful and can throw a sandstorm or two so come prepared for that.
