DiNolfo's Banquets — Attraction in Homer Glen

Our wedding in 2021 was full of disappointment from Dinolfo's.

First, they had convinced us to keep our wedding date (instead of moving the date out due to COVID) by letting us know they wouldn't hold to the minimum people/total cost stated in contract. As a bride who was so relieved, I didn't think twice about getting it in writing. But, a couple weeks before our wedding were asking us for the total cost from the contract. My fault for not getting it in writing... so, we kept moving forward and put it behind us. *Anyone who has booked with Dinolfo's: get ALL changes in writing! No matter how big or small!

Then, we arrive at Dinolfo's after our ceremony off-site and the lobby is full of other weddings. It was so packed that our bridal party was squeezing through big groups of people to make it to our banquet room. We originally thought "Duh, they have multiple banquet halls so it must mean a lot of people". But, this went on all night... it was consistently packed. We didn't get any photos in the entry, near the stairs, and we repeatedly had guests asking us about it. *Anyone touring Dinolfo's and loving the beautiful entryway, make sure you get it in writing when/how you will be able to enjoy it for photos!

Next, Dinolfo's let the banquet hall next to us blast music during our speeches. The time for speeches had be arranged with Dinolfo's ahead of time. When my husband and I complained during the speeches Dinolfo's acknowledged the other room wasn't supposed to be so loud but didn't do anything within 3 speeches. All of our recordings of speeches have the music blaring in the background. We had several guests so appalled that Dinolfo's wasn't fixing this issue that they finally went over to confront the DJ when they said they felt SORRY FOR US. *If you're booking at Dinolfo's ask how they will ensure this won't happen to you.

Finally, at the end of the night there were several fights out in the front of the building because of the other parties. There was glass all over the parking lot from broken car windows and cops were called. I had taken my shoes off at one point in the night and guests who had gone out to leave were coming back to tell me to put shoes on before leaving due to all of the glass. *Although Dinolfo's can't control their guests, this seemed on par with the rest of the chaos and they didn't even mention anything to us they were wrapping up our party and sending us out into the parking lot.

It makes me sad to think we had other options and picked...

My now wife and I were extremely disappointed with the overall service for the reception, as well as what was served.

For starters, we were given a full list of the hors d'oeuvres that would be served at our reception. The day of, we noticed that FIVE options were served sparingly, and most tables did not recieve them. Theses were the BBQ Chicken wings, French Pizza Bread, Cheese curds, Chicken drummettes and  Assorted fried ravioli. They also served shrimp to some tables without our permission. This is very inconsiderate as we could have had guests with shellfish allergies and did not know that shrimp would be served.

In addition to this, we had many complaints that one side of the room was being served constantly, while the other side was not being served at all. When we requested more servers, we were told that Dinolfo's was short-staffed. So if we were going to receive half service due to short staffing, why were charged full price?? Why weren't notified of this? Why wasn't any of this addressed beforehand? We couldn't even have additional trays sent to the bridal room because of how slow the food was coming out.

Our apple cider was also served prematurely, and the "cookies and cream ice cream" was nothing more than vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup.

When I sent this complaint to the manager, he only addressed the issue of the hors d'oeuvres and claimed what we had an "unusually high demand" for appetizers. So basically we paid for unlimited Hors d'oeuvres butler service, but we only received a set amount of trays. They even sat some trays on the bar for our guests to walk over and grab. Again, we paid for unlimited BUTLER SERVICE AND HORS D'OEUVRES. NOT JUST A SET AMOUNT OF TRAYS.

He also claimed that there were still trays left at the end and that he assumed our guests had been accommodated. Yet we were denied additional trays to our bridal room.

They also misplaced the cake cutting and serving utensils that we paid for out of pocket.

They replied only to one email and won't even answer any of my calls.

We are extremely disappointed with the service that we received and we feel highly misled by the promises that were not followed through on, despite having them in writing.

We also had NO room captain to help guide us a long the way, even after we were assured we would certainly have one.

Dinolfos is a nice venue for aesthetics but when it comes to following through on the day of, the fall...

Been a couple years since my experience, but as I've just recently heard of a fellow performer with a similar experience, this needs to be written. A year or 2 back, my company DJ'd an event at this location. The load in went well, as did the event itself. After the event wrapped up things went horribly south. The 2 staff members that remained in the building were exceedingly rude and unprofessional as load out went on. We had a lot of equipment to strike and I guess they were upset that we were taking too long in their eyes so after an extremely unprofessional confrontation between myself and a man I later found out was the owner, we went back to work trying to strike as quickly as possible, the man came back and threatened to commit insurance fraud on my company (the exact quote was "Oh don't worry i have your insurance I'll make you sorry" thankfully the hall DID NOT have a copy of my insurance on file) to which i threatened to call the police. He proceeded to barrel across the hall and assault me, and threaten my crew and I and then he and the other manager in the room threw my equipment out the back door at my truck. and they left before a sheriff's deputy arrived. The following day when i called to complain about them, they had the call forwarded to them from the pleasant young lady who answered the phone and told me if i ever went public with this or called them again they would go after me for harassment. At that time i called the will county Sheriff's department and met a deputy at this sad excuse for a business establishment. They refused to allow me inside so one deputy stayed out in the lot with me and the other went in to talk to these "managers". The deputy later informed me no action could be taken because all the surveillance footage from that room during the night in question had "mysteriously been erased" (the deputy even said it with air quotes because he didn't buy it either). Since then the same client has asked me to come back for other events to which i have refused though i believe they are still using this venue. I've also happily steered at least a half dozen other clients away from this establishment for their events, and i urge any one considering this place as a venue for any event that is supposed to be special to PICK...
