Bent Creek Farm — Attraction in Honea Path

Update: I do not make these reviews to slander the business or owners. I do it for the truth. The owners have responded in quite a manner we didn’t receive at the time of the wedding. But their response today is very uplifting to hear that they seem to have changed how they run their business. Had they not responded at all or in a different manner, the review would have stayed. They have had a change of here it seems, so should I.

I attended a wedding on Saturday, 11/11/2023 for the Rameys. I also attended the rehearsal for the wedding the night prior. I was told the owners of the venue had changed from after the final walk of the wedding to the time the wedding was executed. This is easily noticeable. Meaning the old owners assured and showed a great venue before the new owners.

On 11/10/2023 I attended the rehearsal of the wedding the night before. The wedding party went through the practice runs and the wood planks down the aisle started breaking mid walk! Multiple breaks, children walking down the aisle, wet and dark. The owners solution: put a rug over it and we will fix it tomorrow! The next day they moved the wedding indoors and the rug was still over the planks. They also had a wedding the next day. Doubtful it was fixed.

2 The Grooms changing area had leaking walls with water and a nice little note explaining so. They also provided entertainment by swearing at the tv through the the ceiling/wooded floor on the main floor all over a football game. Hope your wedding isn’t on any game day!

They have no idea how to efficiently set up or change out between the ceremony, dining, and dancing. Waited in the rain for 30 minutes to an hour more than twice for a change out of the same building.

The owners will take cell phone photos of your rehearsal and actual wedding ceremony. They will use these photos for personal business gain, and of course for your thank you letter regretting to inform you that your deposit wont be making back.

Personally this one is not a problem to me because it was fun. Prepare to care for the venue yourself. I had to drive the golf carts around, at night, after the wedding, for disabled guests, because the venue owner had a football game to watch.

No deposit in sight.

Also, I wouldn’t of made this review if the owners did not take down the married couples negative review. Trying to scam out deposits and save face because you cant keep up a sub par wedding venue.

I got married here on 5/7/22, and I cannot say enough good things about this venue! Ana and Gus are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever worked with, and they were ALWAYS willing to help out however they could. They went far above and beyond what I’d have expected a venue owner to do, and they always did so with a smile on their faces. I could tell that they wanted my day to be as perfect almost as badly as my husband and I. They listen to feedback from their guests as well - within a few weeks of mentioning a worry about walkers/wheelchairs getting up a certain section, Gus had made a ramp and a platform for wheelchairs to sit on so people wouldn’t risk getting them stuck in the rocks. After my wedding, they asked me if I could think of any suggestions for them to make the place or experience better, but I still can’t think of anything that could’ve made the day better. On top of all of that, the day before the wedding, Gus and Ana were out blowing leaves out of the way themselves. After guests had left the night after our wedding, they were both helping put away tables and cleaning up. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and there’s multiple areas you can choose to use - outdoor and indoor. There is also a shed FULL of decorations that you can use for your event. The bridal suite is beautifully decorated, and we were all a little bit jealous of the men’s room with a pool table and slot machine. :) Nothing about getting married is cheap, but Bent Creek Farm was very reasonably priced, especially when you consider how much help the owners are with every step of the process and the amount of money you can save by using their decorations. If you’re looking for a venue for anything (but ESPECIALLY if you’re looking for a beautiful wedding venue), you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t at least check...

Unbelievable wedding venue has everything you need to make the most beautiful wedding this place is breathtaking it says farm but it’s amazing nature my son got married at the cross which butts out into the woods absolutely beautiful, they provide circle or rectangle tables with cloths, nice chairs with covers absolutely beautiful all of it the owners were amazing you truly could not ask for more!!!!!!! Make this your venue you will never regret it, they offer a micro wedding that is 6 hrs most places I checked were 3-4 hrs charging way more and nowhere near as beautiful!!!! Plus the owners, Gus was always available for questions or concerns and his wife were so personable and sweet!!! They also have every possible decoration you could use for a wedding it’s included!!!!
