Hiking Diamond Head in Honolulu, Hawaii offers an outstanding adventure just a 10-minute drive from Waikiki Beach. The trail spans around 2 miles, taking approximately 60 minutes to complete. Before heading out, it’s essential to secure a reservation and pay a modest fee of around $6 per person.

The hike begins with a moderate ascent, gradually intensifying as you near the summit. The absence of water stations or restrooms along the way emphasizes the need to prepare adequately with hydration and restroom stops beforehand.

The panoramic views from the top are truly breathtaking. As you ascend, the shimmering Pacific Ocean unfolds before you, with Waikiki Beach sprawling out below. The sight of Honolulu’s skyline against the backdrop of the ocean is nothing short of spectacular.

The trail’s challenges, including steep sections and uneven terrain, add to the sense of accomplishment upon reaching the summit. It’s a rewarding experience for both novice and seasoned hikers alike.

For those visiting Waikiki and seeking a memorable outdoor adventure, Diamond Head is a must-visit. The accessibility from Waikiki Beach combined with the stunning views makes it a popular choice. Just be sure to plan ahead with reservations and prepare for the hike’s physical demands to fully enjoy this iconic...

First of all, parking at this location is strictly a premium. If you plan on driving definitely make reservations well in advance. As for me....I Uber it to/from the site. The adventure is hiking to the craters submit. The hike is about 1.6 miles round trip with some "very" strange twists, turns and stair climbing. Some would tell you that this is a "modest nature walk." Modest...not way. it is not an easy hike by any means. You will be sucking air (smile) But once you get to the top (and catch your breath) you won't be disappointed. The view at the top is just SPECTACULAR, REALLY. It's breath-taking just o look out at the ocean. You won't spend a lot of time at the top but when you do come down you can boast that "I did it. I climbed Diamond...

You looking for a way to burn those calories from a night of drinking and reep the rewards of some of Hawaii's majestic scenary, well heres your place. You only need to pay for parking to get real close. If your up to the walk, parkoutside and make the walk in. I think its a 1.5 mile walk from the closest point. Dont worry if you dont make it through the long tunnels, youll see so much on the way up. Its in a bit of disarray and work needs to get done to make the trail safer to walk. If your out of shape forget it. Regardless, the finally at the end is woth the struggle to the observation post. You get to look down at Waikiki and marvel at the beautiful beaches and water. Hope this helps. Please like my...
