Reaching the Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout is more difficult than expected. It’s tucked away off the main routes, and once you pass the entrance, there’s no easy way to turn around — you’ll have to drive several miles down winding roads just to find a legal spot to loop back. Even then, there are numerous “No U-turn” signs, making it frustrating for first-time visitors unfamiliar with the area.
Then there’s the $8 parking fee, which feels steep considering how short most visits are. While the lookout itself is undeniably beautiful — with stunning panoramic views of the Windward coast — it’s not a place where most people spend more than 15–20 minutes. Unless you’re planning a long stop or hiking the surrounding trails, it’s hard to justify both the cost and the hassle of getting there.

There is plenty of parking and I believe places you can rest along the path to the lookout - you do have to walk a little ways for the best view point.
