Review: Lavender Farms in Hood River
First of all… the color purple. Who knew it could be this magical? As soon as I arrived at the lavender farm, it was like stepping into a dream. The air was filled with the soft, calming scent of lavender—it wrapped around you the second you stepped out of the car and didn’t let go. The rows of perfectly rounded mounds in that dreamy purple hue stretched across the landscape like something out of a painting.
It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and everything just felt right. Next door, the winery added to the charm with a view that honestly stopped me in my tracks—rolling hills, a golden haze over the vines, and a glass of something delicious in hand. The food was incredible (I’m still thinking about it), and the whole experience felt so thoughtfully curated.
The gift shop was an absolute gem—full of beautifully packaged lavender goodies, thoughtful gifts, and a sense of calm that matched the rest of the place. Even the bathroom was heavenly—yes, I said it. A bathroom that smelled like a spa retreat? Yes, please.
The staff couldn’t have been more kind or welcoming, and just when I thought I’d experienced all the surprises the farm had to offer… enter: lavender ice cream. It was the perfect little twist—light, floral, refreshing, and totally unexpected.
All in all, it was one of those rare places that feels like it’s good for the soul. Lavender Farms in Hood River is more than just beautiful—it’s a full-sensory experience that leaves you feeling a little more peaceful, a little more in love with the world, and already planning...

We were approaching the lavendar field out front from their parking lot when a lady came out to tell us they were closed.
Normally that would be fine but her tone was rude and when we said okay, we're just going to take a picture she proceeded to tell us no, they were closed and point with her finger as if she was directing us where to leave.
I was taken back. We were just in the parking lot. Visitors were still wrapping up and leaving themselves and all we wanted was to take a quick picture and be on our way.
Im not sure if we will choose to go back but even if we do our impression has been soured. Being a small business owner myself I find it sad when those who represent a company can't carry themselves with a friendly countenance.
Passerbys taking a simple picture on their phone should not be spoken to as if they were...
