Husum Falls — Attraction in Hood River

Bridge crosses just below the falls. Often you can watch kayakers and rafts shoot the rapids. It was a bit too early to watch them the day I went. Parking is a gravel pullout. Not a bunch of room for a long vehicle.

Two pit toilets at the site. one north of the parking lot and another south of the parking lot across the bridge.

Past the south pit toilet is a set of steps going to the edge of the rapids. Kayakers use this to walk back up stream when they are running the rapids, so don't camp out there.

Just past Husum Falls, is a long set of rapids that pass under the bridge before getting to a long steep canyon area. The water rescue folks train there a lot so they probably know where to find your body, if you're...

It is such an amazing place and I was so lucky to see some group of kids taking lessons. It looked very fun😃😃 Ok...google map just left me in the middle of the road. It showed "is here" (and it is😁🙉) but you need to cross the bridge and you will see an open parking area. Park there. From there walk back to the bridge (it has a pedestrian path) and you will see the trail. Is not really a hike per say but it is amazing. You will enjoy it. Really clean bathrooms and lots of spots to sit down...

Very nice. Close to the put in. Right beside Wet Planet and another raft place. I'm old, and diabetic and was over heated and needed water emergently. The "other" raft company chased my husband off for asking to buy water. Very rude. Wet Planet was wonderfully helpful. Thank you guys!! You saved me! They sold him a coke.
