Mt. Hood is a must-visit gem in Oregon! Just an hour’s drive from Portland, this towering 11,249-foot dormant volcano offers spectacular views. We stayed at the Timberline Lodge, which gave us easy access to take in the incredible scenery around the summit without needing to be climbers ourselves. The sunrises and moonrises over Mt. Hood were absolutely breathtaking, especially with a light dusting of first snow during our stay. The play of light on the mountain adds a magical touch, and for anyone who wants to experience the stunning views of both Mt. Hood and its reflection in Trillium Lake, I highly recommend staying overnight at the lodge. Whether you’re there to hike or just soak in the beauty, Mt. Hood doesn’t disappoint!

This was the most 'technical' climb I've done. (More so than St Helen's or Adams.) Took the Old Chute route summiting around 6:30am. Excellent conditions, great visibility, no wind. Very thankful to my Creator for such an amazing experience, and for protection along the way...!

It's a mountain. It's the top of Oregon. It can suck. But, it's worth getting up there. Just remember you still have to get down. Groomers need to get more love for how accessible they make this climb.
