The recent remodel removed all the stairs and half the paved hiking path. It's super disappointing because this was our weekly spot with the kids. Now the trail is mud/mulch past the 2nd vista, the path is too narrow and plants constantly hit the kids in the face.

Also the mud/mulch path that replaced the concrete sidewalk and stairs is too steep and slippery with all the mud. It's incredibly disappointing that the stairs were removed. Previously the stairs allowed hikers to gain in elevation quickly, while using handrails. Now older folks will never be able to make it to the last vista at the top.

Instead of improving this place they really diminished the overall experience.

The last few pictures is what they removed. I really hope someone makes this right and restores the stairs...

Very scenic overlook on the Nebraska side of the Missouri River, and just West of Vermillion, South Dakota. Beautiful drive from here to the Sioux City area especially if on a motorcycle. There are trails here, but they are a bit aggressive so you are going to burn some calories if you take them. There is not a lot to do aside from reading some of the posted signage, and walk up to the top for the view (outside of if you want to take the trails). So it’s not like a play area for little kids, but more of a scenic stop point. There is a bathroom here, but not one you want to use unless you really need to. Great place to stop and stretch, take in the view, and maybe even pop the cooler open for a few snacks before hitting...

It's a good place to stop for a very pretty view. We stopped in the morning just after sunrise so the sky was glowing. The viewpoint looked newly constructed. There are a few picnic tables. The bathrooms are pit toilets and were clean, when we stopped in. The parking lot isn't huge but how busy can that area get? (We aren't from the area so no idea.) The one bad side to it is that the view is only to the west, trees block to the east. There is no playground but there is a little space to get wiggles out. Other reviewers say pets are welcome but we didn't really pay attention. It was a good stop to see the Missouri while stretching legs and using the bathroom on...
