I bought a few pounds of these peaches at a local grocer here in Connecticut and found that they were really very good and ripened fairly well. I have almost given up on buying peaches here, because they always go from hard as a rock to rotten and mealy. I realize this is because the peaches are unripe when picked then refrigerated somewhere along the line (never by me!) before they reach the store. I know this makes sense in terms of shipping, but I have to wonder what the point of eating a peach is if it doesn't taste like a peach?
