Day 1 (14may24) - sanctuary 1: small sanctuary, coupla loop trails possible, but more of a there-and-back walk to the dam through an unexceptional woodland. saw two garter snakes and lots of fringed polygala on dam. chicken brook starts here and flows through choate park in medway, joins the charles just below west medway dam next to police station.

An excellent trail for afternoon relaxing. Very flat, clear, easy trail for all ages. Variety plants and wild animals, birds around!

This is the fern forest. Tons of ferns. Trails are easy and mostly maintained. We saw deer, hawks, frogs and turtles.

Nice very short hike to a beautiful view! Great if you don't have much time or have a little one such as a toddler or newborn. The trails are very short, so it's not the place to go if you're looking for a lengthy hike. Also a good place to bring a lunch while taking in a view of the pond, but there aren't any picnic tables. I went in July when the pond was filled with pond lilies. I didn't get a good bird sighting but it looks like a great habitat for all...

A fairly small hiking area, with parking for about 5 cars. Lovely views from an earthen dam. Flat trails. Frequent herons and other fishing birds. I've seen deer and...
