When it comes to surf perch fishing, this area by far takes the cake (when the fishing is on). It has been a little hit and miss as of lately, but when the surf perch are biting, boy are they biting. The beach itself is beautiful but tends to be on the cold side. If you plan on visiting this location, bring a jacket and some spare clothes. Also, be advised, there will be sand everywhere in your car, on your clothes, on your shoes, on your everything upon going to this location. I was just about able to make a sandcastle in my own car by the time I was done at this location. The humidity at this location can also be extremely high. The inside of your vehicle may get absolutely saturated with salt water if you are not careful. It also tends to be extremely foggy and drizzly at this location at any point during the year. It could be in the middle of August and be in the low 50s and drizzling. So don't expect this to be a Southern California style beach; this is the Pacific Northwest after all! I literally had to spend $80 afterwards in detailing to get all the sand and detritus from the beach out of my car. But, the experience is well worth it if you are willing to do it. I could think of no better place to kill time on the beach and do some epic fishing. My son caught himself a fantastic Pacific sole that we had as...

Few cars and people make Pre-sunrise & sunrise intimate and unobstructed with nature, sunset, and post-sunset are gorgeous. The power & force of the high tide is an awesome experience. The calm at low tide and vast beach exposed is uniquely calm & sometimes eerie as you walk or drive where the Pacific Ocean will soon cover. Winter high tides leave driftwood, rocks, shells, jellyfish, seaweed, ropes, dimensional lumber, general litter, etc. for extensive virgin beach combing. Or just enjoy sitting comfortably in your vehicle, watching and listening to the birds & witness the power of the moon's gravity as you smell the oceans offerings. Explore the sand dunes getting temporarily lost in the grass covered mounds. Various animal tracks and corpses you might encounter. The sustained wind for perfect kite flying conditions. A fire or barbecue on the beach ⛱️ Driving on the beach highway at 40 m.p.h. is exhilarating. And many other activities make...

I almost hate to provide this information lest the "secret" get out, but if you're going to Ocean Shores and you love to walk the beaches or sit by the water to get some son, leave your hotel and take your car about 3 miles north to the beaches of Ocean City. There, you will find a place marked for parking, and beyond that place, no cars are supposed to enter. (While a few will occasionally drive by, the police do patrol there, especially on weekends so, it's reasonably well-enforced.) The bottom line is that it is safer and quieter... and therefore, in my opinion, a much more enjoyable experience. I make it at least an annual getaway.

Horse rides are usually available on the weekends during the tourist season and public restrooms are just a short walk up from the...

It was so beautiful and clean. Happy to not see any trash on the beach. Loved that we were able to drive down the beach and enjoy a leisurely cruise down the shoreline. Felt really romantic and peaceful. A great first date destination or place for quiet time or just to relax and listen to the waves coming in. Waves were very low, not sure if surfing would be fun here, didn't seem like they had anyone in the water... but that could just be cause its cold right now. We took the dog and he loved it. Had a great open secluded area where he could run around and not be disturbed.

Absolutely beautiful. Not over run with people. We swam in the Ocean. Found shells and sand dollars, had a fire on the beach at night it was wonderful!!! It can be windy at times so be sure to check the weather before you go and always take a jacket. It stays in the 60's unless its like mid July and beginning of August those are the warmest times to go. You can drive on the beach here in between ocean shores and ocean city but no further in the summer months. I see surfers playing in the waves and sea lions. Its a really pretty place to check out on the Washington Coast.
