River Bend Park — Attraction in Horicon

It's beautiful and peaceful , great for a picnics , playing little league baseball game with your team , a game of tennis or a game of frisbee golf and there's a small walking trail nearby in the woods. Every year they do some reinactments of colonial days and I was at a car show I enjoyed there once , but never seen a car show there again. But nothing to do at all in this park itself for older children 8 to 12 years old. This park could do with a makeover badly , it could use a great playground , a slash pad , or simply use the park for a carnival or 4th of July fireworks set off over the river. This park isn't used for anything and has a lot of space to do something but no one ever does anything with the park. It's just a lot of grass and trees by a river with a couple of picnic tables (some under pavilions) and 3 out aged pieces of playground equipment and some toddler playground equipment way down almost out of the park. I've never once seen children play on anything here when I brought my child here to check the park out 8 years ago when we moved here , in fact I've never seen children in this park ever because my child has grown up and wanted to have picnics here and get pictures of the big trees with autumn leaves on them. This park is one of my favorites in town. There are a couple of shelters for use, first come first serve, no electric, new restrooms, two small play areas for the kids and plenty of green space for the Big kids too. There are a number of baseball diamonds as well as a batting cage. During the summer there is a pier available for boating on the Rock River. Plenty of parking is close as well. Can't forget the 9 hole disc golf course. Talk about a challenge... There is also a fitness trail in the park with excersize stations along the way. Just an awesome place to spend time and enjoy...

Great park to bring your family and/or pets. Large area with plenty of shade and baseball diamond if you're interested. There is kids play equipment and a boat launch as well to go on the rock river if you want. Plenty of parking areas and even facilities now during the summer. One of...
