Honestly I wouldn’t recommend this place, there is no emergency action plan. Today we went kayaking and used there kayak rentals. We rented a tandem, A worker inspected the kayaks and said they were ready to go. We went off in the lake and it is a pretty big lake with of course alligators it’s Florida . We have kayaked before but this time we felt really close to the water and we’re getting wet more than usual. We were in the middle of the lake when we felt a lot of water inside our kayak so we blew our whistles a lot of times to get the rangers attention and we began to sink. My father in law was on another single kayak right next to us and try to help us get to the shore and called his wife that was on shore to go get help but we completely sunk and flipped him over. My father in law and my husband flipped the single kayak back straight up and I hopped back on. Unfortunately my husband and his dad are still in the water with gators during mating season. The workers called the rangers because of my mother in law that told the worker, not because of the whistle. The worker said to swim back however this was in the middle of the lake so we were extremely far. The rangers show up in their own kayaks and go right past us and go straight to the kayak that sunk. All they asked is if there was anyone else on that kayak? They left us to continue swimming on our own back to shore. We were still about half way. Obviously we aren’t competition/athletic swimmers so it was going to take us a long time to get back plus being fatigued and worried about gators below us it was about a 30-45 min swim and the rangers did absolutely nothing but tow the sunken kayak back to shore. There was no emergency plan. If someone was truly injured the fire department was never called. They only offered us a refund when our phones were completely damaged. When they brought the kayak to shore there were 3 holes where the water was going through so it was broken. Even off the water the kayak was too heavy to flip. The rangers were talking among themselves that the days prior someone asked for a refund because that kayak was riding to low.We are completely disappointed. Thank god there was not any serious injuries or deaths but I highly do not recommend to come here. Something as simple as a rescue boat or a fishing boat would’ve done the job in driving to us mid lake and scoop us out of the lake. The kayak apparently was more important than our lives. The delayed response is...

Took my girlfriend glamping for her birthday as this was one of her bucket list items. For glamping Lake Louisa has two different options. You can either rent a basic Eco Tent or the Luxury Tent. We opted for the luxury tent because it included electricity, a bed, furniture, and allowed us to use the camp indoor bathrooms and showers.

The tent itself was beautiful and I can say it looked exactly like the photos online. It was clean, no bugs, bed was comfortable. Also had a coffee maker, AC unit, and portable heater/radiator. The AC unit worked perfectly but sadly the heater did not. My suggestion would be to test everything in tent ASAP so if something doesn’t work, you can get a replacement.

There are three glamping tents and we were in number #2. No neighbors the first night but neighbors on each side for our last night. The park is nice and clean. Bathrooms are very clean and well kept, park staff is friendly and happy to assist. There are plenty of trails to walk through, options to kayak, fish, ride a bike. The park store sells snacks, ice cream, gifts, etc….would be ideal if they sold ice.

The only reason I’m giving them four out of five stars is we decided to rent a bicycle and as soon as I got on mine and started to peddle I realized I was being pulled in the opposite direction as I was steering. I pulled off shortly after we left the store we rented the bikes at and I told my girlfriend there was something wrong with my bicycle. She assumed it was due to the bike being older and possibly feeling different because of that. Moments later I rode right into an RV, got dragged under it for a minute and eventually fell to the ground. The RV driver didn’t even stop. I feel the bicycle had been in an accident very recently before I rode it and it should not have been rented out to anyone. When we returned the bicycles the staff was very apologetic and immediately refunded the cost to rent the bikes. They also went above and beyond to make sure I was okay- that was appreciated. Sadly, the fall pretty much ruined a lot of the vacation because we couldn’t kayak or do the long hikes we planned because I was unable to walk much after being hit.

Glamping is a lot of fun. I would recommend this park for that one million times over. Just be careful in renting their bicycles or...

Worst camping experience ever. We booked the " glamping " tent about 6 months ago for our annual camping trip. We called and were informed about the amenities inc( coffee maker, fire pit to cook on). Upon arrival they only have 3 sites. Of the 3, the worst one is sandwiched between 2 visitor parking lots, and 10 feet from the main road, and that is the one she gave us. We asked if we could be moved to another site that was empty and the lady who worked the check in area was terribly rude with a dont care attitude. She abruptly said no. The site was out in the sun, no shade, no cover anywhere, no privacy as it was between 2 parking lots and next to the main road of traffic. We had brought food to cook on the fire as we were told that is what they provided a fire pit. We had a hole in the ground with garbage in it. I went again to ask the woman if she could of provide us with a fire pit with grate so we could cook all the food we brought. She basically told us the site dosent come with that and it was our problem. Even though the other 2 glamping sites came with fire pit and shade cover- this aweful site not so much. The glamping tent advertised it has a/c. No, it came with a small window unit that did nothing for the temperature but made lots of noise. It was cooler outside than inside. The tent smelled like mildew and was stuffy. It had mold and mildew all over the inside of the tent. The interior floor was covered in ants and there were lots of places in the floor that felt like you could fall through from the rotting wood. The coffee maker in the morning did not work. Overall they advertise and charge premium cost for a glamping experience and here is what we were provided- a campsite with no shade, adjacent to 2 visitor parking lots, no means to cook food, a disgusting mildew tent, ants in the tent, rotting wood floor, no coffee maker. Nothing what you will read and what they tell you when you call. To make matters all the worse- the employee when we checked in was the nastiest, rude person I have ever dealt with at any camping experience. We didn't even stay the 2 nights. We left after one and would never recommend this glamping experience. This completely ruined our annual...

3 of us decided we wanted to go camping. All our husbands have conflicting schedules so we decided to go alone. Our goal was to make this trip as easy and relaxing as possible so we opted for the park setup glamping option. (We CAN set up tents, we just wanted to be outdoors and simple). The tent looks much larger in the photos online (see attached photo with someone 5'4" standing next to it). BUT it is VERY roomy inside. The interior pics online are accurate. We brought a full size air mattress so all of us were on air mattress, making sleeping very comfortable and there was plenty of room for the extra mattress. During the day temps were in the upper 80s and humid (typical Florida weather). The AC unit helped lowering the temp inside by maybe 10 degrees. It is a canvas tent after all - it can't work miracles. However the evenings were in the upper 60s and the AC made sleeping very comfortable. We walked some easy trails. The online map was hard to follow and the trails are not well marked-one does not know which trail they are on but as long as you stick to a chosen path you'll be OK. We rented kayaks. They were clean and when we returned we witnessed the attendant cleaning the vests, paddles and kayaks before returning them to stock. It was very easy and we were pleased. One def need to use sunscreen before going on the water. There isn't a lot of shade (obviously). Also take drinking water with you. We saw a lot of butterflies, squirrels, several rabbits (early morning and late evening), a snake, a lot of birds, and a small gator (4'). On our hike we saw prints from deer, raccoons, bobcats, and panthers. I highly recommend this park. It has a lot of paved areas for biking, skating, etc., a lot of trails, and plenty of camping options.
