Buffalo Bayou Park is a large expanse of green in the middle of the city, with highways passing on either side of it.It is an elongated park, with many concrete paths for runnings. There is a river running through the centre of the park. There are many bridges connecting either side of the park. There are separate areas for basketball (a covered court), volleyball, children's park, open-air gym, etc. The park offers great views of the skyline. You'll see people running, cycling, playing ball games, walking dogs, picnicking, doing photography, ... a nice place full of positive energy. There are also cycles available for rent, via membership or even by the hour. At one edge, there were some beautiful Tolerance sculptures by Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa, illuminated at night. There is also the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern at the other end.The park has free parking at some spots. Entry to the park is free, and is probably open 24x7, because we didn't see any gates that could be...

If you're ever looking for a laid-back Houston hangout with top-tier local brews and a killer rooftop, this is it.
