The park is characterized by its expansive layout, providing a generous amount of space that caters to the needs of runners, walkers, and hikers alike. Its beauty is further accentuated by the serene lakes and surrounding natural landscapes, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking tranquility and scenic views.

However, it is essential to exercise caution and be aware of certain safety considerations, particularly during the late evenings and nights. Recent incidents of crime, including a tragic death, have been reported during those hours, prompting local authorities to advise visitors to avoid the park during this time. It is crucial to stay informed about these developments through news sources and take appropriate measures to ensure personal safety.

Conversely, during the mornings and daytime, the park is widely regarded as a secure environment suitable for people of all ages. Families can be seen enjoying their time together, engaging in various recreational activities and appreciating the natural surroundings. The park serves as a vibrant hub for community gatherings, picnics, and social interactions, fostering a sense of unity and shared enjoyment.

In light of the contrasting conditions, it is recommended to plan your visits to the park accordingly. Taking advantage of the park's safety during the mornings and daytime allows for a delightful experience, where you can relish the sights, engage in physical activities, and create cherished memories with your loved ones. However, it is prudent to respect the cautionary advice regarding late evening and nighttime visits, ensuring that you prioritize personal safety and make alternative plans during those hours.

By being mindful of these factors, visitors can strike a balance between enjoying the park's scenic beauty and recreational opportunities while staying informed and taking necessary precautions to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for themselves and...

I was initially uncomfortable leaving my car here because there was a guy just chilling in his vehicle listening to music, but when I got out and started walking away, he got out of his SUV. He didn't look like he was here to walk the trails or any kind of innocent activities, so I just kept an eye out, took note of his vehicle make/model, license plate, and what he was wearing, and took a short walk, then came back. It was five minutes, and he was already gone. Either I was wrong, or he noticed how closely I was watching.

Otherwise, the park is pretty nice. There's some trash about, though, so I can't give it more than three stars (one for feeling unsafe, one for trash). Some wildlife, some wildflowers, and a lovely lake. The walkways are very nice.

I would have explored more of the lakes on further trails if I hadn't gotten caught in the rain!

Overall, I would come back here, but maybe with an empty car (I'm from Louisiana and have some stuff inside that I'd rather not lose) and preferably with someone else to accompany me. Some cleanup and maybe an extra patrol through the park could make this park worthy...

Big forest park ,a few recommendations doe, if you are planning on seeing the parks full beauty dont leave any valuables inside your car. Bring a lot of water and it goes by fast. Try staying on the path if you are alone ,as I see a few crazy people off path.If in a big enough group +4 people ,I recommend taking a off path route and just enjoy the scenary.Use sun block and mosquito repelant,if its during the rainy days or after a bit storm. Be careful with bee nest that are underground ,snakes are known to roam around ,please do not touch them.Other wild life should be admired from a distance and not to be up in person as it a big risk for your safety and the wild life as well. If off path be aware of your surrondings, I found a creepy man following me last time I was joggy the bigger off path road. Please do not bring dirt bikes, or any vehicles inside it disrupts the quiet scenary and its very dangeous as mud can make you slip and fall (I seen this happen alot). Dog and other pets are allowed but please dont let them do their thing on the sement path.Other than that enjoy the park its beauty is...

This park is perfect for walks, runs, and bikers, the only problem is that ruins this park beauty is trash and the mud trails that atv’s do, and spring/early summer has to be the best times to come to this park because there’s flowers, birds chirping (as always), and a lake. There’s also a bridge where turtles can be seen, but there’s a couple of trash in the lake and there’s a tire in the lake for some strange reason. Lastly I haven’t walked through the full path of the park I’ve only went through the path around the lake and the entrance to the park, in the lake park there’s a place where fishers so (I think) and in that place there is a lot of turtles + when you go more forward there’s a small bridge too. My experience is a 10/10.

This park would be a lot more beautiful if it was taken care of. There's tons of trash, graffiti, and people made houses/shelters inside the bushes on the way to the trail. They are often seen with their phone flashing, not sure if they are recording or trying to lure people in. Anyway, I don't know if any crime has been committed here prior, but it definitely made me feel scared and bought my own self-defense equipment the next day. I also saw some dogs that appeared to be dumped. It is disappointing because the trail is a pretty good distance and manages 6000 steps in one go. It's pretty perfect, plus lots of land to explore off trail. I hope that they invest more in this park, keep it clean, and get rid of suspicious activity.
