Still beautiful, I hadn’t been out to Lake Houston in years. Nice place to take the boat and hangout with friends. We had a jetSki which is always fun on a hot day. There were not many people out fishing. But I hear the lake has been stocked with largemouth bass, palmetto bass, striped bass, and catfish. Most people were tubing, wakeboarding or floating in the water by their boat. We didn’t see any police or Texas game warden.
A new intake pump station has been built on the lake it’s definitely an eyesore. This is the main drinking water for Houston. I’m sure the people who live on the lake don’t care for this in their backyard.
Overall Lake Houston is still a great place to get away for the weekend. The birds in the morning fly in the the thousands, be careful if driving a boat try not get too close. You could stress out the birds. There are a lot of places to eat in town. There’s also a great park on the other side of the lake, called Lake Houston Wildness Park.
