My parents purchased what they thought would be their last couches from Star Furniture. These couches replaced ones they purchased from Star that lasted 20 years. We expected these to do the same and wow, we are so disappointed.
What a horrible quality these couches have turned out to be. The leather is already sagging in different parts of the sofas.
I called Star Furniture three times and was given three different emails to customer service before I was given an email that actually worked. One of the customer service emails that doesn’t work is posted on their Facebook wall. What a run around.
I called and left a message with the store manager but they are obviously too high grade of senior management to bother handling an issue with a product they sell.
They never bothered to contact my parents or return my messages. They claim an email was sent but I looked through my email - no such thing ever happened.
Today, I finally got an answer after calling Star. It turns out the manufacturer looked at the pictures and determined it’s “normal”. So that’s it. There is no other recourse for my parents and now my mom is stuck with these bad quality couches. It breaks her heart to know the last couches she bought are a true disaster - and she has to now look at them for the rest of her life and be reminded of how she was let down by a company she trusted.
I’ve got the pictures to prove what I’m sharing. The last two pictures were of the couches when they were delivered. The pictures before that were of the couches less than a week later. My parents don’t have pets and they don’t have many visitors for this type of wear and tear in two weeks.
It infuriates me that the management at Star Furniture takes advantage of senior citizens like this.
You can see from my profile that I have left many reviews for businesses and I am a fair reviewer. I believe that companies need to do the right thing by their customers no matter what. Clearly Star Furniture is no longer one of those companies.
Buyer beware because there is no resolution for you when you buy furniture that turns out to be defective. My parents should have gone to Gallery Furniture. I’m sure Mattress Mack would do the honorable thing and fix this situation - but then again, Gallery Furniture is about Houston. Star only cares about the stock market evaluation.
I would give Star a negative rating but that’s...
Read moreI’ve spent a significant amount of money furnishing my home with Star Furniture, and this has been one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had as a customer.
My first delivery included the wrong side table, which had to be exchanged. Then my dining table, model B31-305T by Hooker Furniture, priced at $3,099 (not including the chairs), arrived wobbly from the very first day. They replaced the bottom base, but when they lifted the tabletop, I could clearly see that a piece of wood where the screws attach is completely broken. That broken piece makes the table unstable and unsafe. Instead of taking responsibility and replacing it, they are sending another technician just to inspect it, forcing me to waste even more time waiting at home.
I called the store and asked to speak with a manager and was told I would receive a call back, but no one ever called me. All I’ve asked for is a replacement tabletop, not another repair visit. I’m not complaining about the price, because I chose to buy it, but the quality is unacceptable for what I paid. And to be very clear, they better not come and try to glue a broken piece on a table that cost over $3,000. That would be absolutely unacceptable and disrespectful to any customer who spends that kind of money expecting quality furniture.
To make things worse, my sectional was delivered broken. The cup holder console was damaged upon arrival. A service call was completed, but I am still waiting for the exchange, which means yet another delay, another delivery, and more inconvenience.
After everything I’ve been through with wrong deliveries, broken furniture, missed calls, and constant waiting, I am completely disappointed. For the amount of money I’ve spent, I expected quality, communication, and accountability. Instead, I’ve received defective items, poor customer service, and endless frustration. I still have more rooms to furnish, but I will never buy from Star Furniture again. The stress, wasted time, and lack of care have made this experience truly unacceptable and incredibly...
Read moreVery disappointed in Star Furniture. Went looking for a rug and found one wonderful rug from India and made the decision to purchase it. Completed the finance app and finished the paperwork and went home waiting for delivery the next Saturday. After getting home, got a text from our sales person saying the finance app was not completed and filled it out again and let the sales person know. Saturday comes around and I had not heard anything about delivery and reached out to the sales person to make sure they got the finance app and found out they did not get it. Filled it out one more time and got confirmation the app was received. Was told delivery would be the next Saturday. On Friday, I received a message with the delivery window and thought everything was good. Got a call from the delivery driver that they would be by about 11am for delivery. They got to the house and only had the rug pad. Called and left a message for the sales person and followed up with a text. Sales person called and made excuses which was unacceptable and stated that the rug needed to be delivered by Monday or I would cancel the order and got more excuses that they don't deliver on Mondays. After repeatedly telling the sales person this experience was frustrating and taking up my time to be around for a delivery mess, they followed up about 30 minutes later that the rug would be delivered same day within an hour. After this experience, I WILL NEVER SHOP STAR AGAIN. Delivery of a rug should not be this difficult and the sales person should be making things right for the customer and not making excuses. Very poor...
