My daddy would take me to this park and let me play as a child. I took my children when they were little. That's when it had the metal spinny thing, lol, and the playground was mostly wooden. It had the tire swing and the bridge. They loved it as much as I did. They have made some improvements and it's not like the old days, but it's still my favorite park. It has plenty of shade, plenty of picnic tables, a gate to keep children safe. The bathrooms are decent, and it has something every child can play on no matter what age they are. I was able to take my now adult children, and my first grandson to swing yesterday. He loved it as much as I thought he would...and they enjoyed it as much...

They have added a couple upgrades, like the ring around that you're actually able to sit on like a tea cup ride (for children playing by themselves) or if you choose to stand on it there is an option for that as well, the new slide/jungle gym as a very cool upgrade and they've done away with the rubber tires for cushion and actually have a foam type mat at the bottom. I still feel nostalgic whenever I visit though because this is the exact park I'd visit as a little girl myself. The fitness court is tidy with a few exercising pieces of equipment...
Read moreThe recreation center on Brooklane was a great place for our family gathering. We had about 75-100 poke and if course there was still room left. The parking was well lit and the area was safe. The building itself was in great condition. The restrooms were nice and clean. This time it wasn't as cold as the last time I came in October 2 years ago when the heat wasn't working. The kitchen was nice and clean. A good Suggestion would be to get a good rolling bin to keep there to have for people to fill with ice and sodas/juice. Therefore eliminating cooler space(s).
