Raymond Gary State Park — Attraction in Hugo

Great little State Park. Very peaceful and quiet. Got a site with great view of the lake. Just a walk away for taking a lawn chair with my rod & reel. Enjoyed watching a small flock Canadian geese walking by my campsite this morning. Bathrooms are a little older but very clean and accommodating. All the RV sites seem to be on nice level concrete pads. Both park rangers, John and Russ are very nice and helpful. They personify a genuine "Mayberry" hospitality here! I just found out about this park recently and definitely plan on returning soon. Though not real fancy or elaborate, but because of the staff and relaxing atmosphere I give this great little humble...

I really like this park. It is small but that also means less people so it's quiet and peaceful. Concrete RV sites and some on the lower lakeside area are pull thru and all there have a wonderful view of the lake. We caught Crappie, bass and sunfish from the shore. Lots of wonderful wildflowers. Families of Canadian geese that were fun to watch. There are no trails but the roads thru the park provide good views. This park is clean, well maintained. Rangers Bruce and Gino do a fantastic job. Cabin #4 is a Grest Cabin and was very clean, very quiet and spacious...no screened in porch thou but we actually had a bigger bathroom than one with the screened in porch...depends on what your looking for. Also we had a little issue with the fireplace letting smoke onto the room so we had to put the fire out. Hopefully they will be able to figure out the issue.
