Besides all the graffiti...and maybe because of some of it...the place not only had a historical value, but also as a photographer - an artistic one. Not that tagging is approproate in the criminal sense, however majority is NOT offensive or criminal here either - which makes you see the beauty in some of it! Others look like disrespectful kids doing what they wanted where they wanted...but some are extremely artistic &/or add to they mystique & eerrie air that surrounds & envelopes this place as is...once you step down into the fort area - the grounds are peaceful during the daytime, but many shows have come to the area to try to catch paranormal activity, where much energy & emotions were felt & experienced by everyone that was here - and possibly STILL ARE! This place is very historical & old, as stated before...and for those into history, to find this literally in someone's back yard...but with the markings & stories to tell you what happened here and why. Therr are great plaques to help you understand the history of yhe towrr &. Some of the areas of the fort & what its purpose was. Some believe the place to be haunted, which I myself wouldn't be surprised...you can't have that much historical pentup energy in one place for so long, without having some left behind. After many passionate years of love & protection of one's life, land & harbor of country - it has to hold some pieces of past that are bound to echo throughout time....whether we are open to hear, see, or receive those messages - that's to each individual to decide for themselves. If you are open, you may delve a little deeper than most into the historical past that Fort Revere is known for...and experience It (and them) - for yoirself! It is a great place with scenic views of the area also....something for everyone! And doesn't cost a cent...parking is free....and it is easy to get to - not far off the beaten path for those that live &/or vacationing in the Boston, Hingham, Hull, Cohasset & surrounding areas all the way down to the Cape....tucked behind the historical cemetary & containing some of those that may have been at Fort Revere...judt down the street from the Library & Hull High School! And if you are into history - it's well worth the trip, to experience this place for yourself & learn a little more about something you thought you knew all about.....but maybe...

Really magnificent Revolutionary War-era fort that was used until after WWII.

The view from the other side of this fort (which you can climb to or wander around a trail to) is unparalleled.

There are trails around the fort, but you can also climb or slide down into it and explore!

I can’t climb stairs in a traditional manner, but hardly anyone was there so I just scooched down them. It was so fun to explore, until I heard two dogs being loosed into the fort.

I was surprised: this IS a historic site, and a public park. It’s illegal to loose your dog in either. But the distinct lingering smell of weed, graffiti on the walls, and even a vape pen here and there indicate that the town could do better taking care of this place.

Please leash dogs if you bring them!!!! This is a requirement at ALL public parks, and some people still don’t.

Fragile people like me are at great risk when you rudely ignore this common courtesy.

I was almost jumped on by two loose dogs today, even after I yelled to their owner “I’m medically fragile and scared of dogs, please leash your dog!” The owners ignored me.

When the bigger dog saw me, the dog raced right at me here (friendly, but a jump would have dislocated something).

I quickly pulled my vinegar bottle to spray the dog to make him turn and go away, which it did.

The owner then came at me for spraying her dog, which, aside from the fact that vinegar isn’t gonna hurt your dog, the dog wouldn’t have been sprayed if she had obeyed the law and kept him on a leash, and if the dog hadn’t been running straight at me, inches from my body!

Her partner finally compelled her away and leashed the bigger dog, but they didn’t leash the other.

It is the law. It is also just common courtesy.

Not to mention, at historical sites like this one: some respect! Leash your dog.

There is limited parking and the ground is uneven, but there is a small grill and three or four picnic tables at the Tower and burial hill just behind the fort.

It’s truly a beautiful place to spent an afternoon.

Please keep it safe for all of us (disabled people like me...

In the summertime, when people in Massachusetts go out to enjoy the nice weather and sunshine as much as they can, we found a perfect spot for our weekend. Fort Revere Park in Hull, Massachusetts, is a historic site constructed during the Revolutionary War. It was built by patriot forces to defend Boston Harbor from British naval forces.

The fort features several well-preserved military structures, including gun emplacements, bunkers, and a water tower. These structures provide a glimpse into the military engineering and architecture of different periods. We discovered that this place is an excellent spot to enjoy the scenic views of Hull Bay from atop the walls.

There are many spots with incredible views of the beautiful small town, the windmill, and bridges where people hang out and enjoy their summertime.

If you're looking for a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy your time with friends, family, or loved ones, please check this place out. Highly...

Things to know before you go: 📍Fort Revere Park @fortreverepark @massdcr 60 Farina Rd, Hull, MA 🅿️ There’s limited on-site parking at 60 Farina Road. 🎟 The park is FREE to the public 🕑 Open daily from dawn to dusk 🐶 leashed dogs are allowed 👟 Visitors are welcome to explore the remains on the fort on foot - wear comfortable shoes. It’s a fascinating place with lovely views. Look for the stairs next to the parking area and proceed with caution! 🎨 Just a heads up: there is a lot of graffiti inside the bunkers 🚻 No restrooms available 💡 You can read about the history of the fort on interpretive signage around the park. Telegraph Hill was first officially fortified during the Revolutionary War, to protect Boston Harbor. By 1777, the fort had 15 guns, placed in low walls or parapets. There was also a military hospital. 💧The 120ft tall water tower was constructed on site in 1903 — one of the earliest steel reinforced concrete water towers in the US, and likely the first in New England. There had been a watch tower that stood in that location from as early as 1673. On your way in or out: 🍪 Stop at Breadbasket Bakery and Cafe for delicious coffee, pastries and baked goods (their tiramisu Cruffin - croissant/muffin - was amazing, and we highly recommend their chocolate chip cookies, French Vanilla coffee, and “brownies the size of your head”) 🛝 And the Hull Village Playground at the bottom of the hill (129 Spring Street), if your kids need to run and play more before driving home. More things to do in Hull: 🎠Take a ride on the historic Paragon Carousel (only opening April 19) 🛟 Visit the Hull Lifesaving Museum (only open weekends) 🏙️ Sunset Point Seawall is a short walk with great views of Boston (you’ll find parking along Newport Road between Kenberma & Guild Streets) 🌊Walk along the beautiful Nantasket Beach #hullma #fortreverepark #bostonharbor #fort #southshorema
