So much to do at this park its huge. When you enter the park they have a nature center with live animals inside the building and a little library for the kids. They also have lots of trails to walk or go by cycling through. Some of the trails lead you to ponds with turtles and other trails connected you to other parks. The playground has lots of trees for shade and two places for the kids to play with swings and lots of tables to eat. They also have restrooms around the corner and water fountains too. It is a great park i already spent so many hours enjoying this park. Some of the conns about this park is that majority of parents let their kids play at the playground and wont pay attention to their child. For instance i took my children to play and when my daughter was going up the the ladder to climb some little boy did not want to wait and decided to climb on top of my child their father was standing besides me and didnโt say anything. Another example i was painting at one of the tables while my children were playing and one of the children that my kids were playing with comes up and tells me that they dont want to play that game and everyone is teasing the girl. I had told the other children that were teasing her and making her play that she did not want to play. When i had said that one of the childrens mom told her child not to let no one talk to them like that. Her child was being a bully. I went back to painting and some other kid cones up to me asking what i was painting so i told him. Thats when the lady whoโs child was the bully kept saying to her husband that now Iโm talking to the children and having a discussion. I was just minding my business until these kids kept coming up to me asking...

There have been numerous occasions where the cops kick everyone out because something went down. Police patrol regularly and sometimes ticket cars with expired break tags. Otherwise, the coolest local park and nature area around. Closed on very specific days of the year, and closes at dusk daily. The flora and fungi are diverse and incredible to observe throughout the changing seasons. You can see all sorts of wildlife, from owls to deer to garfish. So neat! The trail is good to walk, run, bring your dog, rollerblade, skateboard, bike, etc. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. There are lots of events that take place throughout the month and there is definitely something for everyone. Placards here and there tell about the history and diversity of life to be found in the park. And the homestead area is my absolute favorite: it's peaceful, it's cute, it's tucked away from the busyness of the main trails. The cabins and huts are interesting and there is also a seasonal garden to watch grow and change all year. Lots of people come here so don't expect to have much of the park to yourself. Rainy days, on the other hand, create a quiet and serene atmosphere, hardly anyone is there. It changes the dynamic and brings out some of the lesser seen wildlife. And there will be mosquitos for about two weeks after it rains. Mostly mosquito free, though.
Overall, the loveliest park nearby with a chance of...

The problem I see most often is that cyclists ride the trails like they are untouchable and would never cause an accident on cemented and gravel trails comparable to the streets of rural England. The trails have many different people walking the trails enjoying nature, I once saw a very capable, but elderly woman passed by at a high rate of speed by a cyclist with no call like โpassing leftโ the guy had headphones on and had complete disregard for her and other up ahead. Itโs not all the cyclists, but the handful ruin it for the cyclists that are considerate.
Go into the nature center and check out the collection of artifacts and various species on display. The Texas Cichlid was actually donated by me a few years ago and she is very interactive when she is in the mood. I have a male that I am considering donating, but the history between the two was hostile during their โteenage yearsโ. That may have changed, especially since the park provided such a beautiful display for the female.
The park is top notch, come see for yourself to what this park...
