On April 2, 2016 I was on a guided horse tour at Latta Equestrian Center. During the course of the tour a very large tree limb fell on me from about 50 feet up. The limb landed on my hand, fracturing my finger, chipping the bone on that same finger as well as causing a very large laceration to my right hand. I begged the tour guide to call a medic as well as another individual on the tour. Her response was that she did not know who to call and I told her to call 911. My hand was bleeding out as well as it was completely numb and my middle finger was turning purple. I pleaded with the guide for another 10 minutes to please call for help and she told me that she had. After another 5 minutes a man came walking through the woods and I ran to him holding my hand and he immediately turned his attention towards the horses, I was crying and questioning him as to where help was and he told me to just have a seat. My hand was still bleeding out and completely numb, so after waiting approximately 15 minutes, I ran out of the woods and found a man in a nearby truck who offered to drive me to my own vehicle which was about 5 minutes away from where the accident happened. At the time i arrived to my vehicle I took my own cell phone and called 911. The 911 dispatcher asked if anyone else had called from the plantation and I told her that I thought that the tour guide had, the dispatcher informed me that they hadn't received any calls from that area and that she would send help to me. Latta Equestrian Center did not call my emergency contact nor did they contact me to follow up about my condition. I called and spoke with the barn manager named Valerie on April 5,2016 who informed me that no one had called because several people had worked since then, I asked her about an accident report and she informed that it had not been completed but should have been completed on that day by the tour guide. She also informed me that at the very moment that I asked for a medic one should have been called. I find it very negligent that the Latta Equestrian Center has no plan of action or protocol when it comes to some getting hurt on there property, as well as them being negligent in offering no type...
