First let me start with the fact that this is a LUXURY campground. The picnic tables are cleaned in between every visit and they are brand new. They also have a windshield/shade for the tables which is a must. Their bathrooms are CLEAN, and their ADA shower (we were recommended by the staff to use when we bathed our dogs) has HOT water. Like actually hot, not lukewarm at most camp showers, and it's not coin operated, nor is there a time limit. Which allowed us to bathe our two dogs before getting them into the car (driving home with two fish smelling dogs is not ideal). They have a fish cleaning station (which we didn't end up using because we only caught sticks and boulders haha).
The nice things that they did have were boat, jet ski, kayak, and SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) rentals as well as an inflation station if you needed it ($2 for SUPs). There was a volleyball court, a water obstacle course, and boat tours as well as two areas to launch a boat from. They keep the creek well stocked with Rainbow Trout, Blue Gill, and Large Mouth Bass. The staff is amazingly friendly and so helpful. Honestly this is my current favorite camping locale, and while I just got back I am planning my next trip!
The place is SUPER pet friendly, we encountered several dogs on our trip and we even took our dogs out on our own SUPs. It was definitely worth it and I highly recommend bringing your fur babies out.
I highly recommend you check the weather before you go including the wind forecast, while we were there we had gusts up to 60mph. I'd recommend to bring deep stakes for your tent if you're...

Prices: $15 Utah resident to get in, $20 for non-resident for the day. $40 to camp in a spot with electricity for the night.
Picnic spot: There are a handful of metal tables. They get warm in the sun. There are very few manmade fabric pieces stretched over poles to make a type of covering. Most of the handful of tables were out in the sun or pulled close to the trees. They look more like brush trees.
The scant trees have A LOT of BUGS in them and the pink flower seemed to attack some bees. Our group was fine but I'd give everything a good shake before using it or packing up. We went on a mildly windy day in August. Not too busy. It was hot.
There are a lot of red rock mixed mountains around to look at. If you have a water vehicle to get to the other side of the reservoir you may find a nicer spot.
Shoreline: Rocks, sharp rocks, slippery rocks. About waist deep, in turns into sludge that takes a shower and pedicure to remove the dirt from. The water is merky. When you wore your shoes in the muddy part, they tended to get suctioned off your feet.
Water: Most people in the water had boats, jet skis, seadoos, or were paddle boarding. Not too many just swimming around. With all the boats, you kinda start moving away from the shoreline when you are floating in the water. There is a currant of sorts just from larger water vehicles passing by. There are buoys in the water to single sports larger vehicles cannot cross with engine on.
Kids had fun..it was okay. I don't think I'd visit again. I'm more likely to try...
Read moreMy own 1-5 scale: Proximity to surrounding points of interest-5 Zions, St. George, Hurricane, and other State Parks are near. Distance from campsites to bathroom-1 The sites with hookups or for trailers are far from the bathrooms. If you have something larger than a tent, plan accordingly. Layout of campground-3 It’s a one way loop. Slightly challenging to navigate while towing or needing to back into a site. Also, no shade, but that’s typical for the area. My site-3 We were on a bend and our fire pit was right at the apex of the bend so we got blinded by headlights all night. We had the highway behind us where there was a bend there also so as cars came around we got flashed by those headlights all night. During the day those weren’t issues. Our shaded table didn’t shade, but maybe it was the time of year because it seemed to be facing the wrong way. We did have good size exploration area near us for the kids. Lake-2 It was advertised as being a little warmer than usual. It was not. Also, there is no beach. It goes parking lot, rocky sand, sharp rocks/mud, then water. River shoes are a must!!! I tried to walk into the water barefoot and between the frigid water and jagged rocks I had a moment where I prayed for death to release me from my pain. If you’re boating or fishing I’m sure it’s awesome, but if you want a beach day or to swim, not so much. I ended up wearing sandals and eventually acclimated to the temperature. Now that we’ve been once and know what we’re getting into, I do think we would...
