Updated 8/13/2023 We went for their Back To School Bash. The age range for wristbands had me a tad baffled (11+ were considered adult), but you needed a wristband for the horse ride and snow cone... Is my 11 year old the only one still interested in those things at that age? Even with that confusion, we had a blast yet again. What I love most is how chill everyone is. My toddler rode a bike on the dirt track, and was on cloud nine. My seven year old spent THE ENTIRE time on the slip n slide. She couldn't get enough. We got to witness the birth of two baby goats. It was pretty fascinating, as this isn't something my kids would ever witness anywhere else. They do a fantastic job. The owner has such a fun energy, it's contagious. Can't wait for their events this fall/winter. Side note - fingers crossed the Mac n cheese makes a comeback for fall🤞
Where do I even start? Horse rides - yes please! For those who have kids who have "ride a horse" on their bucket list, this is the place to mark it off. They have "train" rides as well. The farm is small enough to keep an eye on the kids as they play, yet big enough to keep them entertained. The light maze was perfect for little ones. We enjoyed walking through the field of lights as well. I have to say the FOOD and the GRINCH took the cake though. I could have sat there and watched the Grinch with his shenanigans all night long. The Mac and cheese knocked my socks off (made from scratch). You can tell the owners are passionate about making your visit memorable - they have put their heart and soul into every detail and I just want to say THANK YOU so much for making this a MAJOR holiday highlight for us. We will definitely be back. Pro Tip - dress warm (mittens and hats) - they have fire pits you can reserve. I'll make sure to do that next time, it...
Read moreOn Saturday night, Naomi Ream and I went to The Farm. Our original plan was for us to go through the haunted house together. But after getting there, we found out that unfortunately my scooter wouldn't physically fit through their haunted house. Since Naomi had never been to a haunted house before, I encouraged her to go through without me.
I talked with the owner, and he was able to get her in with another group so she didn't have to go by herself. Funny enough, it was a group of three young ladies, 12, 14, and 16.
It sounds like the four of them had a great time, lots of mob mentality screaming as one would scream and the other three would scream. At one point they wanted Naomi to be in the front to lead the way, but then when they found out that people were following them they wanted her to be in the back to protect them. Sounds like it was quite a fun time.
Naomi really, really really enjoyed the big tall clown faced stoic stranger that seemed to stalk her throughout the entire haunted house, scaring her at least four separate times, and just being there every time she turned around. She actually enjoyed that a lot more than she thought she would. Maybe it has to do with her dark romance novels she enjoys. ;-)
Afterwards, we wandered around the rest of the farm, went through there hay bail maze, which was cool, and Naomi made me go first since she still had the adrenaline going from the haunted house. They have lots of kids games, rides, different places to play and experience.
All in all, it really was a great time, and if you get a chance to go, I would certainly suggest it. They are doing the haunted house this Friday and Saturday, but their fall festival goes throughout the month of November. It was my first time going out to The Farm, and it really was cool. I definitely...
Read moreI had the opportunity to drive through the Colorado Rockies into Utah, and it was truly somewhere in the top 10 most scenic routes for me. Starting in Golden, Colorado, the drive through Evergreen, Frisco (with its stunning, lake), Breckenridge, and Vail. Each area offering its own unique beauty. The stretch between Eagle and Palisade is memorable, with winding roads and views, before arriving in Glenwood Springs, also unique. From there, the landscape gradually transforms as you cross into Utah, which is the most incredible rock formations. I’ve taken this drive multiple times but today I really took it all in. It was a reminder for me to get out more!
I ended the day at a Harvest Host location called The Farm in Hurricane, Utah, near Zion National Park. It was the perfect place to land. The host, Katie, was incredibly welcoming. We spent time chatting about her vision for the farm, her family, community and how she’s building a space for others to create lasting memories. Her warmth and hospitality made the stop even more meaningful. If you're considering a road trip do the Colorado Rockies to Utah stretch, you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend both the drive and this wonderful stay at The Farm. Gift shop is...
