Mountain biking was my form of use on this trail. From the trail head (in the gulch), a steep climb on well maintained trail. Then to a split right, here, will take you to another split to lengthen the journey by 8.5mi (staying left) or a short loop around the top of hill on your right. If you stay left at this first trail split, you ascend some more to a two track with nearby upper lot. Continue down the tracks to a gate, private property, another gate, with a nice descent to the North lot. Trail head here takes you back to the aforementioned second and first split. This area is fast and technical in spots. Still some climbing. Finally at either split, take a left to the head trail (mostly descent at this point.) Nearly 2,600 ft elevation gain with the large 17 mi loop. Long sleeves and plenty of water highly suggested when...

This is one of one of my favorite trails to get away from Denver. The beauty here is untouched, I could get lost in my thoughts here every time. This trail changes its beauty for each season. So, check the weather and bring plenty of gear, water, and snacks.

On these trails you may encounter horses, cows, dogs, moose, many wild small animals, and people on bikes. Stay on the path! This a packed dirt trail. The perfect footwear is hiking boots, snow boots, or jogging shoes for mile high runners. At the trail head has restrooms, maps of all the trails, and a paved parking lot. If I wanted a small walk or jog my go to is the Juniper trail. It does have elevation, but the trail is flat for jogging, and the view is breath taking. This is...

Beautiful location for a less crowded front range bike ride. Vault toilet was clean, but no hand sanitizer. Be sure to check the website to make sure you are going on the correct day for your method of exercise, as it is on an alternating schedule between biking and hiking/horseback riding. The Evening Sun loop was rated a green and it was good for beginners. The Travois Trail was rated blue and there were some technical, rocky parts that I wouldn't recommend for novice riders. The views were very beautiful in the late afternoon to early evening and was great spot...

The loop is roughly 1/4 flat prairie type and 3/4 narrow woods path. To the 4+ bikers that forced me off the path: perhaps you didn't see the giant colored signs informing you that today was just not the day to bike ride...I'll assume you were blind or ignorant of the rules; otherwise I would assume bikers were self centered asshats...and that would be rude of me. Please be civil and mind the alternating schedule on the weekend for bikers/hikers.

Empty on a June Friday 3. Nice view and bathrooms. Not far from 6 up steep but paved roads. Picture of dirt road is the first part of the hiking trail not the road you drive up. I mountain biked it. As a trail, I would say its a very bikeable hiking trail, but isn't a "mountain biking" trail with berms and stuff. Go clockwise so your last long climb is in the shade.
