This park is lovely. The most impressive part to me is that swimming in the river becomes accessible to everyone. There are ramps for wheelchair access, which I have never seen anywhere else. Bravo to whoever decided the city needed this. They do ask that we leave this spot for those who need it to have access, which I respect. So the first time I saw it, we left for a different spot. Then I messed up my knee, and needed it. I was glad to have easier access to "ice" and stretch my injuries. It was like going to physical therapy without the copay. I attribute a good bit of my healing to going to this park to swim, and I am no longer in pain or limping. You can ice an injury all day at home, but the cold water surrounding the injury is more effective. The brown trout there are... something. They weren't aggressive like they were trying to bite me, but I was surrounded by fish about the size of my hand. It was like in Jurassic Park where the game warden sees the one velociraptor, but then there's one to the side that eats him. I don't know what they wanted or why they thought they should all be within two feet of me. It was too early for spawning, which is likely in the gravely bottom there. So keep your eyes peeled, because maybe they just like the pasty white legs of people who cover up for more than half...
Read moreRead moreAbsolutely gorgeous park with the water access for swimming , including handicapped access area at the beach. Thanks to a city mayor and his team who did a nice thing providing such a gorgeous area for people and even building fenced dog park (with water access as well) next to a general beach area. Sunsets are beautiful and landscape is gorgeous. However every time we are going to the park I am appalled to see how many dog owners choose to ignore signage. Instead of taking their pets to the designated large dog park , they take their dogs into a general area . Some let their dogs running loose without a leash.Result is - dog’s poop piles are everywhere. To those who is not aware - dog feces transmit diseases. I hope every some bech pet owner, who is inconsiderate of others eat their dog feces one day. P.s I was a pet owner in a past and love dogs, but I would not allow my pet where it is not supposed to be . I hope city start fining people who...
This is by far the best park in CDA, Idaho. There is something for everyone here. The kids playground is fantastic, the public bathrooms are very well taken care of and clean.. there are multiple different front waterpark areas for families and smaller beach areas for individuals. The dog park is more than fantastic. Not only is there a huge dirt area for the dogs to run. They have their own waterfront area. Another great feature is the handicap beach area. They have safety bars and walk ways into the water for people with special needs. The best part about summertime is food trucks. They have their own area and set up. Currently right now and for the rest of the Summer they have an ice cream truck, Coffee stand and Burger truck. Win win for ALL ages. They really thought about everyone when...
