Only 2.5 hours from Salt Lake??? Details below! 👇👇👇 🗓 Be sure to share and save for your future trip! Southern Idaho has unbelievable beauty that you must see! We were blown away on our visit by how many unique landscapes there are to see! Only a 2.5 hour drive from Salt Lake City, Southern Idaho makes for a perfect weekend getaway! Regardless of when you visit, you will be blown away! Here is a full 2 day itinerary that will blow you away! ✅ Day 1: 💧Perrine Coulee Falls •Not too far off the parking area in Twin Falls, this waterfall is unbelievable! This area looks like it was transported from Iceland! This waterfall is a must see! ⛰ Teepee Rocks •These rock formations will make you feel like you are on another planet! A short hike from the parking lot, wandering through these formations is spectacular! 🏠City to stay overnight: Burley ✅ Day 2: 🏔️ Castle Rocks State Park •Must do hikes: Castle Rocks Trail, Around the Rock Trail 🏔️City of Rocks National Reserve •Must see: Window Arch 🚨Off season warning: Idaho can get hit with a lot of snow fast. Castle Rocks, City of Rocks, and Teepee rocks require driving in areas that are not always maintained in the winter. If you are visiting and there is snow on the road, do not attempt to drive to these places unless you have 4 wheel drive. Having chains is also a must if you want to visit City if Rocks. It is very easy to get stuck in the snow. As always, please follow the leave no trace principles while visiting the parks. Take out any trash you bring with you including compostable material like apple cores and bread scraps and sadly now masks. If you encounter animals like squirrels, chipmunks, or marmots, please do not feed them as it encourages them to go closer to humans and steal their food (this has become a major problem in the parks). Together we can make our parks wonderful for everyone to enjoy! Tag someone you would bring here! Drop a like, save and share this post, and leave a comment with your thoughts!

As much as I love the Southwest for astrophotography and stargazing, I love finding elite gems like City of Rocks. I had 3 nights of warm weather, no crowds, and the clearest and darkest skies that put an iconic place like Arches on notice… As much as I love the social aspect of Night Photography, I enjoy the solitude and not having to deal with crowds, permits, or other people’s headlamps all night was peaceful as heck. I camped within a 5 minute walk from this Arch and only shared it 1 night with some nice folks from Utah passing by 😬✨ #reels#instagramreels#reelsinstagram#night#space#stars#visitidaho#idaho#visitsouthernidaho#cityofrocks#stargazing#milkywaygalaxy#milkyway#nightsky#earth#arches#archesnationalpark#moab#moabutah#utah

Surprised by @visitsouthernidaho that I found more epic rock formations than potatoes, maybe the potatoes all hide during the winter? 🤷♂️✨ Either way, I’m excited to get back to City of Rocks Reserve next spring & summer (this Arch faces East) and capture the upper Milky Way galactic core/Cygnus area of the sky over it… and maybe finally find some of those famous Idaho potatoes 🤔🥔 #reels#reelsinstagram#instagramreels#idaho#travel#adventure#space#stargazing#starry#starrynight#twinfalls#cityofrocks#visitsouthernidaho#nightphotography#space#nightphotography
