Harriman State Park is a beautiful place! Originally owned by the Harriman family, they gave the land to the state so the world could enjoy the beauty which lies there in. Full of pine trees and many small lakes, with the Snake River winding through out, hosting Beautiful trumpeter swans, geese and all sorts of Wildlife. Those who manage Harriman State Park have done a wonderful job in creating activities, whether it be a Moonlight Serenade, Halloween activity, elk bugling, cross country skiing or riding a horse through the property as the owners originally did. I encourage everyone to look up Harriman State Park and see all the activities they offer. You can take your family here for great reunions and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this land. Stay In the original farm house or the bunk house. There are the Milk Barn, the Carriage Barn and many more buildings to explore. Harriman State Park is open winter and summer. The farm is a must-see if you enjoy cross country skiing or just...

Harriman State Park is an absolute "must see" for anyone visiting the area. Extensive series of hiking trails, beautiful views of the famous Henry's Fork River and historical buildings from an era long passed. The area is seamlessly connected to the broader Island Park area, which is a part of the Yellowstone eco-system. World class trout fishing, hiking and mountain bike trails abound. In the winter, the landscape completely alters and the area is accessible by snow shoe and x-country skiing. In winter, make sure you dress and prepare for harsh and cold weather. In spring, summer, and fall, it's basically mandatory to have a healthy supply of bug spray and sun screen. Bear spray is STRONGLY recommended! This is bear country and area is home to many Grizzly and...

This is our go to state park due to close proximity. We usually stay in a yurt in the winter and do some snow shoeing or cross country skiing. But this summer we backpacked to the Becker yurt that is 1.5 miles from the over night parking. There are two paths that can be taken to the yurt. One path winds through the Forest and another path is flat, through a wide open field, and pretty direct. We were forewarned about mosquitoes being really fierce and regret not taking that warning more serious. We saw some wildlife, beautiful sunset and sunrise, yurt is comfortable and accommodating, the vault toilet not too far away. One thing not at the yurt is a fire pit, so no open fires allowed. We will definitely go again. 2 adults and an...

This park was recommended by a family member. Since we were here in April with a new 12 inch coating of snow, we weren't sure it would be open and didn't expect to be able to see much. However, we learned you could borrow snow shoes for free. We drove to the parking area near the beginning of the trail, and suited up with hats, gloves, etc. It was tough going as there were no previous footprints to follow, but it was beautiful scenery. We took a path close to the river and saw and heard geese and ducks. This was great exercise and sure beat being inside another day! The staff was very helpful. If we're in the area another time, we'll be back and try some hiking, etc.
